The Horizon Festival has set up in Mexico for Forza Horizon 5, and it features a variety of terrains and landmarks to explore. One of the biggest landmarks is the La Gran Caldera volcano, but if players haven't been competing in Events nearby, they might not know exactly where it is located.
There aren't a lot of tasks in Forza Horizon 5 that ask players to find a location on their own, but the Sleeping Giant Photo Challenge requires players to locate the volcano from memory, and take a picture of a Modern Rally Car while on top of it.
Where to Find the Volcano in Forza Horizon 5
The La Gran Volcano in Forza Horizon 5 can be found in the northwestern corner of the map, just east of the Dunas Blancas region near the coast. It can be quickly located by looking for the long and swirly red roads that lead to the summit.
Knowing where the volcano is located is just one of the steps required to complete the Sleeping Giant Photo Challenge for Autumn in Series 1. Players must also be in a Modern Rally Car while taking the photo.
To search for a specific type of vehicle, players should pause and go to the "Cars" tab, and then choose "Change Car". Press Y to filter the selection, and go down to "Car Type", then tick "Modern Rally". Choose any car from the list. If none appear, go to the Autoshow or Auction House to buy a car in Forza Horizon 5.
After getting into a Modern Rally vehicle, locate the volcano on the map and set a route to the top. Or, if fast travel has been unlocked in Forza Horizon 5, press X while the cursor is on the volcano to travel there almost instantaneously.
Although the picture on the Festival Playlist looks like it was taken inside the volcano's crater, players can take a photo anywhere on the volcano to tick the Sleeping Giant challenge off as complete. Press up on the d-pad while in a Modern Rally car and press A to take the picture. If Horizon Promo has been unlocked in Forza Horizon 5, players can press RB instead to take a quick photo.
Completing the challenge unlocks the "Sleepy" Emote, and adds 2 Points to Autumn's seasonal total. 22 Points are required to unlock the Honda Civic 84', and 42 are needed for the Radical RXC. All Series 1 Challenges and Rewards can be viewed at any time by tabbing between seasons from the Festival Playlist menu.
Forza Horizon 5 is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
