In Foundation, there are a lot of things to keep tabs on, and a lot of different items you can make, grow, or mine. One of the many items you will want to get as your town grows are sheep. These little cuties will give you access to wool for cloth.

The game isn't super explicit on how to get sheep, so you might be wondering just what you need to do in order to get mature animals that you can sheer for their wool. Here is a complete guide to everything you need to know about sheep in Foundation.

How to Get Sheep and Wool

Once you have unlocked Clothing in Progression in this complex simulation game, it's time to set up your sheep farm. First, you need to place the farm with a little space around it. When it is built, assign one or two villagers to the farm, then use the Paint Pasture button to draw the shape of the pasture for your sheep. As you draw, the Paint Pasture brush will go from "too small," to "adequate," and finally to "too big." For most farms, it's important to make sure to draw out the field as "adequate." With sheep, you don't need to fill out the full thing to get the full benefit. Draw until it just reaches "adequate," then stop.

Foundation-How-To-Get-Sheep-Farm-No-Mature-Livestock

Placing the pasture in this cozy indie game will turn the grass a different color in the chosen location. An icon will appear above the building saying "No Mature Livestock." This means that there are no sheep that are old enough to start shearing. This can only be solved by waiting. The sheep spawn as you draw the pasture, and they begin as baby lambs. It will take three to four in-game weeks for them to mature enough to start producing wool.

How to Turn Wool into Cloth into Common Clothes

Foundation-How-To-Get-Sheep-Wool-To-Cloth

To turn wool into cloth, you need to build a Weaver's Hut and assign one or two villagers to it. It's also a good idea to build a storage facility and assign wool, cloth, and clothing to it t. When it is completed, the villagers will automatically begin making wool cloth. Next, use the build menu to put up a Tailor's Workshop, assign a couple of villagers, and they will begin to manufacture Common Clothing in this bright and colorful indie game.

How to Sell Common Clothes

To sell Common Clothes to your villagers, you will need to unlock the Goods Market, which is right next to Clothing in the Progression menu. Open the build menu, then select Village Market. In the Village Market menu, select the white Goods Stall, then place it where you want it. Next, you can add decorations, like the awning, before hitting the build button. If you build a Goods Stall without decorations and want to add to it later, you can select it, then press the edit building button in the little menu that pops up.

How to Spawn a Black Sheep Achievement

Foundation only has one hidden achievement in Steam, and that is to spawn a black sheep. There is about a 1 in 50 chance of getting a black sheep every time you spawn a sheep. In order to spawn more sheep, though, you will need to expand your farms or build new ones. If you despawn your sheep to try again, you will get back the sheep you already had. It might take some time, but keep making bigger and bigger fields until you finally get one of these cuties.
