Each Abductor in Freedom Wars Remastered has a health bar displayed on its torso. Players can make use of a variety of combat items and weapons to whittle down the Abductor's health and ultimately defeat it. The game features different types of damage, each functioning in a unique way. While Light Melee weapons are often used to sever specific parts of the Abductor's body, Impact Damage operates similarly, contributing to the overall strategy in combat.
Understanding how to use Impact Damage effectively can make a significant difference in taking down Abductors quickly. This guide discusses how Impact Damage works — and how you can utilize it to take down Abductors fast in Freedom Wars Remastered.
Freedom Wars Remastered: How to Change Clothes & Accessories
Clothes and accessories both change how your character looks in Freedom Wars Remastered. Here’s how players can change them.
What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage is typically found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. You’ll often notice a number alongside the Impact Damage %, but this doesn’t necessarily mean your total damage is increasing. Rather, it’s non-elemental damage that makes your normal attacks hit harder, which in turn increases the Abductor's stagger rate. Once the stagger meter is full, the Abductor will stagger and fall down or react differently, allowing you to capitalize on the opportunity and deal significant damage before it recovers.
Unlike the health bar, the stagger meter isn’t visible, meaning the Abductor can stagger at any point once the rate hits a certain threshold. This can be advantageous or problematic depending on the situation. Playing offline gives you the chance to charge your next attack and land a big hit. However, in online play, staggering the Abductor may make it harder for teammates to land their hits. As mentioned, some Abductors respond differently to being staggered, like Ramosa, who moves backwards. Getting precise binds or landing solid hits can be more challenging during this time.
How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered
To increase Stagger Damage, you must first unlock the Weapon Development Facility. This facility allows players to craft and customize their gear, providing a range of options for weapon enhancements. Within the facility, you can select the Manufacture Modules feature to create a module of your choice using various resources. For the Stagger Damage Up Module, you’ll need Glassy Carbon, which is commonly harvested as a field resource in several Basic Operations. Once you’ve acquired the materials, you can also select the Synthesise Modules to combine multiple of the same type to upgrade their effectiveness. After crafting the module, attach it to your weapon to increase its Impact Damage, improving your ability to stagger Abductors during combat.
Since Impact Damage is classified as non-elemental, focusing on physical damage upgrades rather than elemental enhancements ensures maximum efficiency when staggering enemies.
This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up particularly valuable for players using heavy melee weapons or certain ranged weapons that naturally excel at building stagger.
