Madhouse is one of the most respected names within the anime industry. The studio has produced several top-notch adaptations, which have become a hit with viewers. In recent years, Madhouse has released two major projects that have gone on to receive plenty of positive reviews. These are Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth.
The latter was a surprise package, and it didn't reach the mainstream audience despite its amazing story. However, that wasn't the case with Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The anime was released in September 2023, and it became a major hit within a few months. While Madhouse will be thoroughly pleased with Frieren's popularity, it wouldn't want to stop there.
The Studio Behind Frieren Will Release Another Anime In 2026

It has been confirmed that Madhouse will release a new anime called Liar Game in April 2026. Asami Kawano is serving as the director, while Tatsuhiko Urahata is handling the scripts for the anime. Kei Tsuchiya is in charge of the character designs, and Yugo Kanno is composing the music. Liar Game is based on Shinobu Kaitani's manga of the same name, which was serialized in the Weekly Young Jump from February 2005 to January 2015.
The series follows two characters, Nao Kanzaki and Shinichi Akiyama, who are forced to participate in the Liar Game Competition. The duo has to beat their opponents at the game while simultaneously taking down the organizers of the Liar Game Competition.
The series has many psychological elements, so fans will have to pay close attention to what's happening on the screen.
Frieren Season 2 Is Releasing In January 2026

Before Madhouse releases Liar Game, the studio will have to shift its attention to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2, which is set to be released in January 2026. Anime fans are looking forward to Frieren's return, especially after the phenomenal first season. There are high expectations, but hopefully, Madhouse will be able to deliver on them.
For a long time, it was unclear how many episodes the second season would have. Fans were obviously hoping for a long season with more than 20 episodes. But it has been revealed that the new season will only have 10 episodes. The studio wants to maintain the excellent pacing but at the same time doesn't want to get too close to the manga, especially when it is on an indefinite hiatus.
