Frostpunk 2: How to Get More Population

Players who want to expand their Workforce and increase their Heatstamps income in Frostpunk 2 should set their sights on growing their Population. While maintaining favorable conditions within a City is often all that is required to continually grow Population, it is possible to increase the rate at which it occurs. More specifically, fans can grow their City's Population more quickly by increasing their Population Growth in Frostpunk 2, and this guide explains how that is done.

Players should get in the habit of occasionally hovering over the Population icon near the top-left corner of the screen. This action will cause an information pane to appear that provides details about the current state of Population Growth. Notably, this information pane will display a steadily-increasing percentage if a City's Population is rising, and a Population increase occurs every time that percentage reaches 100.

Conditions

Players who want to grow their Populations should begin by making sure that they have established favorable conditions in their Cities. This means keeping all five of the city problems that appear at the top of the screen under control, and these guides will help strategy game fans who are struggling with some of those issues:

Buildings

While there are not a tremendous number of Buildings that directly increase Population Growth when established, there are some options that players can pursue. Here are details on how to gain access to those options:

Research Hospitals: Recovery Hospital (Idea Tree: Society). Built in Housing Districts.
Research Incubation: Incubation House (Idea Tree: Society). Built in Housing Districts. This is a Radical Idea that requires progress with Reason.

Laws

There are many Laws that increase Population Growth when enacted, and they can be put before the Council after researching certain Ideas. Here is a list of those Laws as well as details about how they are made available:

Parenthood: Dedicated Motherhood (Council: Society). Available after researching Parenthood: Dedicated Motherhood (Idea Tree: Society).
Relationships: Relationship Rotation (Council: Society). Available after researching Relationships: Relationship Rotation (Idea Tree: Society).
Relationships: Mandatory Marriage (Council: Society). Available after researching Relationships: Mandatory Marriage (Idea Tree: Society).
Procreation: Birthing Programme (Council: Society). Available after researching Procreation: Birthing Programme (Idea Tree: Society). This is a Radical Idea that requires progress with Reason.
Procreation: Mandatory Procreation (Council: Society). Available after researching Procreation: Mandatory Procreation (Idea Tree: Society). This is a Radical Idea that requires progress with Tradition.
Outsiders: Accept All Outsiders (Council: City). Available immediately.
Outsiders: Allow Productive Outsiders (Council: City). Available immediately.

Frostland

As players explore the Frostland, they may encounter locations that increase Population Growth. Fans can activate the effects of those locations by using a Trail in Frostpunk 2 to connect them to a city.

There are also locations within the Frostland that almost instantly grant Population at some cost. Similarly, Frostpunk 2 players may encounter City Events during their playthroughs that immediately award Population.
