Fang Yao is one of the major NPCs in the game, directly tied to the true ending of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. She does not have that many interactions, but some of them can be easy to miss, especially if players are more focused on rushing down bosses or exploring other paths.

Hillswatch (Cloudspire)
From the Shrine, head up the main path, and when you reach a crossroads, take the path on the left and turn again to find a ladder that leads back to the Shrine. Right next to the ladder on top will be a glowing blue spot where you can perform the "Examine" gesture to obtain the Shu Silk Scarf.
Cloudspire City (Cloudspire)
Before reaching the Cloudspire City shrine, you will come across an enemy carrying a bag standing next to a door. Defeat the enemy and approach the door to find Fang Yao on the other side, where you can hand over the Shu Silk Scarf to her.
Shaft Entrance (Cloudspire)
After reaching Lost Shaft by going down the elevator, you will come across the first shrine here, and right next to it is Fang Yao. Talk to her and choose the option to "Agree to help."
Wedding Hall (Cloudspire)
After defeating Princess Bride, you need to interact with the Wedding Hall shrine to make the NPCs in this area spawn. The Storyteller will be to the right of the shrine, and you can find Fang Yao on the left. Talk to her to get:
- Fang Yao’s Hairband
- Fang Yao’s Light Gown
Battlefield Pass (Mt. Zhenwu)
From the shrine, head left into the caves, which will lead you to a ladder going down to the Refugee Camp. Right before descending the ladder, look to the left where a few huts are located. Next to them, you will find He Youzai along with Fang Yao. Talk to her, and she will give you Soft Rush Flowers x3.
Annalum (Worship's Rise in Ruins)
Right after talking to the Storyteller and going past the point of no return, head outside the house, and to your immediate left will be Fang Yao, along with He Youzai—provided you haven’t messed up his questline in any way. Speak with Fang Yao to receive one Soulgrass.
Reverent Temple (Worship's Rise in Ruins)
After reaching the Reverant Temple, head left to the area that was previously inaccessible to find Fang Yao sitting on the ground. Talk to her to receive Research Journal - Scrap and Ring of Samsara - Effect, which is an important item for the true ending of the game.
The ring is a consumable item that grants Red Mercury. If you’re aiming for the true ending, be sure not to consume it.
Annalum (Worship's Rise in Ruins)
For her last interaction, you need to go back to Annalum and head to the house in the middle. You can talk to her from outside, and she will mention not leaving until He Youzai and Wuchang both come together.
