A New Anime By The Creator of Fullmetal Alchemist Is In The Works

Daemons of the Shadow Realm Will Be Out Soon

Fullmetal Alchemist was one of the most defining anime series of the 2000s. The series, despite having ended over a decade ago, is still widely praised, and considered to be one of the very best.

The person behind the FullMetal Alchemist is none other than Hiromu Arakawa, one of the most well known mangakas in the industry. Since doing Fullmetal Alchemist, she has gone on to write other stories, with the most relevant right now being a story known as Daemons of the Shadow Realm.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm is Arakawa’s most recent work, and it is actually still ongoing at the moment. So far, this series has been published in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine and has 9 volumes total, which is more than enough for one season. This manga actually started back in 2021 and is finally getting adapted into an anime, which is big news for fans of this mangaka, especially as the main characters are also two brothers, just like in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Many fans might be wondering just what this new series is about, and the description of this manga is as follows:

“In a world where certain humans command mighty supernatural duos called Daemons, it is the birthright of "the children who sunder day and night"—twins Yuru and Asa—to rule over these powerful entities.

Separated from a young age and unaware of the truth of their birth, brother and sister must fight to make their way back to each other, claim their birthright, and save the world...”

With the announcement for this series being made, there was also a short teaser revealed, and it showcases some key visuals that fans can check out on YouTube.

With that said, this anime does not have a release date at the moment, but one thing is for sure, it won’t come out before 2026.
