An evil counterpart to Freddy Funko will be the main antagonist of Funko Fusion, studio 10:10 Games has announced. The villain's reveal was shared as part of a new Funko Fusion trailer that debuted at the 2024 edition of San Diego Comic-Con.
10:10 Games originally announced its Funko Pop crossover game back in 2022. Funko Fusion became available to pre-order back in April 2024, which is also when the British developer attached a September 13 release date to the project.

Funko Fusion Story Trailer Introduces Eddy Funko Villain
The company has now taken to San Diego Comic-Con to share a new story trailer for the game. The sub-two-minute video introduces Funko Fusion's main antagonist, Eddy Funko, a shapeshifting menace that looks like an evil version of Freddy Funko. Eddy will be voiced by Hollywood veteran Clancy Brown, known for his roles in The Shawshank Redemption, Bad Boys, Starship Troopers, and John Wick: Chapter 4, among dozens of other projects. Funko Fusion will hence be the next stop in Brown's illustrious game voice acting career, which spans four decades and includes contributions to many acclaimed titles like Fallout, Jak 2, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Detroit: Become Human.
Eddy's "dreams of total domination" will drive the game's storyline, and it will be up to the player to stop them. Aside from shapeshifting powers, the villain was also revealed to wield a powerful ability to possess Funko Fusion characters. He'll apparently use this talent quite liberally in order to build a powerful armor of corrupted minions ready to do his bidding. Thwarting Eddy's evil ambitions will be a multi-faceted task, requiring everything from combat and puzzle-solving to strategizing with team compositions. Players will have a lot of freedom when building their squads, with 10:10 Games promising that each playable hero will come with their own tools that make them unique.
Funko Fusion's SDCC 2024 panel also featured Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of The Walking Dead and co-founder of Skybound Entertainment, the publisher of the game's physical editions. The renowned comic book writer presented the attendees with the first look at some previously unrevealed Funko Fusion characters, including Omni-Man, Rick Grimes, and Michonne.
The game itself will debut on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 13. Its PS4 and Switch ports are scheduled to follow on November 15. Although 10:10 Games previously avoided labeling its debut title as a live-service experience, the Funko Fusion developer nonetheless intends to support it for as long as there's interest in it.
