Nintendo Switch 2 Costco Bundle Comes With Extra Perk

Wholesale retailer Costco will offer customers looking for a Switch 2 a bundle that will include a nifty perk, with some caveats to consider.

In a recent post on Twitter, Elea Tsentzelis stated that after GameStop's pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 went live at 11 AM on April 24, one of the retailer's physical locations was trying to sell custom bundles of the console to gamers who had lined up to make their purchase. Tsentzelis said that it didn't really impact their decision to purchase the system, as they already wanted to buy Donkey Kong Bananza and a screen protector. However, they did point out that other people were getting out of the line and leaving the store without making their purchase. Many people saw this as a shady business practice on the part of GameStop, as the only official bundle from Nintendo includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World with the console.

GameStop Location Accused of Selling Custom Switch 2 Bundles

GameStop has responded on Twitter, stating that it is actively investigating the accusations of people being turned away for not wanting to purchase a custom bundle. The company also asked anyone who has experienced this issue to reach out to GameStop via DM so it can try to make things right. Some people pointed out that it would be difficult to truly correct the issue, as GameStop's site and stores have sold out of the Nintendo Switch 2. Fortunately, this issue doesn't appear to be widespread, as many people said that their local GameStop only offered the console and the Mario Kart World bundle.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 launch title Split Fiction also stirred up a bit of controversy recently, as it was revealed that the physical boxes sold by retailers may simply come with a code inside the box. This upset a large portion of the community, who stated buying a physical version of the game should come with a hard copy. Despite some hiccups surrounding its pre-orders and games, many fans are feeling optimistic about the launch of Nintendo Switch 2.
