How to Beat Raam on Insane Difficulty in Gears of War: Reloaded

Raam is the final boss of Gears of War: Reloaded that players will encounter during the Pale Horse chapter of Act Five. You'll fight Raam on a moving train, while his body is shrouded by a Kryll swarm. Raam is armed with a shotgun that can one-shot you in insane difficulty, while he can also send out waves of Kryll your way for an instant kill.

Defeating the boss on insane difficulty without getting down once is near impossible with an AI partner. So, it's highly recommended that you ask a friend to join you in this endeavor.

Working in sync with your co-op partner is crucial to surviving this boss fight without getting down to unlock the Brothers to the End trophy. So, here's a complete breakdown of the boss.

Dispersing Kryll and Reaching the Turret

The first thing players must do before entering the boss arena is stock up on ammo in the train buggy. There's equipment on both sides of the middle compartment, where you can find a sniper, ammo, and a Torque Bow towards the right. Make sure one person grabs the Torque Bow and grenades, as they'll be responsible for distracting the boss and dispersing the Kryll swarm with explosives.

After entering the boss arena, make sure that both players are waiting for the Reaver on the right to show up. Shoot an arrow from the Torque Bow at the Reaver to one-shot it. After that, the player who'll be staying behind must throw grenades or shoot the Torque Bow to keep the boss's attention on them (and disperse the Kryll swarm).

As soon as the Boss starts marching towards the aforementioned player, the other players must make a break towards the turret at the back. While heading towards the turret, make sure to only run over the light strips on the floor, and dodge if the boss is about to shoot.

Using the Turret on Raam

Once the player makes it to the turret, the other player must keep shooting the boss and chucking explosives at it to disperse the Kryll swarm. The job of the player on the turret is simple: keep shooting the boss, and quickly dodge back as soon as you hear Kryll. Kryll will swarm the turret, so it'll be safer to wait on the light strip on the ground and get back on when it's safe.
