Gears of War: Reloaded players are sharing their frustrations with the Gnasher damage right now, with some describing its current state as "inconsistent." Gnasher-on-Gnasher combat is the real meat of Gears of War: Reloaded's multiplayer gunplay, so it's particularly annoying that it doesn't seem consistent for many players in the remaster at the moment.
Gears of War: Reloaded is technically a remaster of a remaster, following 2015's Ultimate Edition, which upgraded the 2006 third-person shooter on Xbox One and PC. However, despite being largely faithful to the original game, there are still a few flaws that differentiate it from Epic Games' first effort. Players haven't been shy about pointing out these unpopular Gears of War: Reloaded changes, which, hopefully, The Coalition will work on rectifying in future updates.

Gears of War: Reloaded Players Are Frustrated at the State of the Gnasher
Over on the r/GearsOfWar subreddit, there are plenty of threads right now discussing the Gears of War: Reloaded Gnasher shotgun. According to frustrated players, the weapon's damage is extremely "inconsistent," with some players able to instantly kill or down opponents with a single shot from a distance. On other occasions, clean shots from close range are dealing much less damage than expected. While some pointed out that it could be due to the extra damage from the Active Reload mechanic, others contested this, claiming randomness was present whether this was done or not.
The concern for some is that Gears of War: Reloaded is supposed to be an introduction to the franchise for PlayStation gamers. If something as fundamental to the series' gameplay flow as the Gnasher doesn't feel good or isn't enjoyable, then it makes it more difficult for PlayStation gamers to buy in for future installments. And it certainly seems like there could be more Gears of War coming to PlayStation 5, so it's crucial that Reloaded serves as a good place to start for players.
Gnasher improvements were actually singled out in Gears of War: Reloaded's launch day patch notes, which claimed it had "tighter spread, improved damage, and hit registration" from the game's multiplayer beta. However, the sentiment at the moment certainly seems to be that The Coalition has slightly missed the mark, so hopefully it is able to improve with more future updates.
