Summary
- According to a leak, Charlotte is expected to return to Event Banners in Genshin Impact Version 5.4 with Furina and Wriothesley.
- Players criticize Genshin Impact for the banner system favoring older units over new characters.
- Charlotte excels as a 4-star Cryo character, syncs with Furina, and provides flexibility in builds.
After an absence of 461 days, and according to recent information datamined from Genshin Impact, Charlotte will finally be featured on the Event Banners alongside Furina and Wriothesley in Version 5.4. While there has been much discourse about the banner system in Genshin Impact, the brunt of the discussion was focused on 5-Star characters. Many Genshin Impact players found it ridiculous that Cryo characters like Shenhe and Ganyu were sidelined for almost two regions.
While the Liyue Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact has temporarily solved this issue, characters from Inazuma (such as Kokomi) seem to face a similar situation in the very near future. These issues with having a consistent banner schedule extend to 4-Star characters as well, especially since Genshin Impact seems to favor older units such as Bennett, Noelle, or Xiangling. The most egregious modern example of a 4-Star being refused a rerun is Charlotte, who hasn't had a single appearance on the Event Banners since her debut in Version 4.2.
Genshin Impact Players Want Changes to Current Banner System
Genshin Impact players want changes to HoYoverse's Limited Character Banner that would allow re-runs to occur more frequently.
Thankfully, it seems that Charlotte will be given time in the spotlight once again, as according to HomDGCat, she has been datamined to appear alongside Wriothesley and Furina in the second half of Version 5.4. Rather amusingly, this would make all three 4-Stars on the Event Banner be Cryo characters. With Charlotte being revealed as the last 4-Star character in the lineup, players can finally figure out the full Event Banners for Version 5.4 of Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Banner Characters in Version 5.4
First Half
- Mizuki – 5-Star Anemo Catalyst
- Sigewinne – 5-Star Hydro Bow
- Sayu – 4-Star Anemo Claymore
- Xiangling – 4-Star Pyro Polearm
- Gorou – 4-Star Geo Bow
Second Half
- Wriothesley – 5-Star Cryo Catalyst
- Furina – 5-Star Hydro Sword
- Charlotte – 4-Star Cryo Catalyst
- Mika – 4-Star Cryo Polearm
- Chongyun – 4-Star Cryo Claymore
As a 4-Star character in Genshin Impact, Charlotte thrives by being one of Furina's best teammates. Her healing is synchronized with Furina's Elemental Skill, and her ability to apply a lot of Cryo makes her ideal in Wriothesley's Freeze team. Given that both Wriothesley and Furina are featured alongside Charlotte in Version 5.4, her rerun certainly has a lot of value. An underrated aspect of Charlotte is her flexibility, as players aren't forced to build her as a pure healer, but can instead choose to focus on her offensive potential as well.
That being said, Charlotte isn't the only group healer on the Event Banners. While Mika's ability to apply Cryo pales in comparison, he is a decent alternative for Wriothesley in Genshin Impact if players get less lucky with their pulls. As enticing as Mizuki's Signature Weapon may be, the second half of Version 5.4 is poised to draw plenty of interest, especially from Genshin Impact players who have been waiting for Wriothesley since Version 4.1. The second half banners will start on March 4, 2025, and will last until March 25, 2025.
