Early on in their journey through Genshin Impact, players will encounter a character named Katheryne in Mondstadt. She introduces the player to the Adventurer's Guild, explaining that it provides a lot of benefits with absolutely no drawbacks. Though this sounds too good to be true, she's not lying.
That said, certain dungeons and features will be locked behind reaching certain Adventure Ranks, making grinding out experience for this a huge priority for some players. Most notably, Genshin Impact doesn't allow co-op play until reaching Adventure Rank 16, so players wanting to explore with friends will want to reach this level as soon as possible.
Genshin Impact: How to Get Star Glitter
Genshin Impact provides players with a number of different currencies, and Star Glitter will allow alternate methods of unlocking new characters.
Updated on April 4, 2025, by Aditi Jeyanathan: The main method by which Genshin Impact players can increase their level is through their Adventure Rank. It's something players will immediately notice upon starting the game and exploring Teyvat. Your Adventure Rank is what you'll see at the top of the screen whenever you earn EXP points and that all contributes to the rewards you'll also obtain from Katheryne at the Adventures Guild. You'll first encounter her at Mondstadt, but as you unlock every region, you'll see different versions of her in each one. Speaking to her will gain you access to the rewards' system each time you level up, but to do that, you need to first know how and where to level up.
6 Complete As Many Quests As You Can
Like most RPG's, Genshin Impact also has an overarching storyline that sets the stage for its lore. Aside from the captivating story, players can also earn a variety of rewards upon completion. Completing the main story quest (Archon Quest) will give players Intertwined Fates and EXP points, whilst World Quests, Side Quests, and Character Quests will give you primogems and EXP points. These EXP points are what you need to increase your Adventure Rank. The same can be said for Hangout Events, which give quite a lot of EXP.
5 Do Your Daily Commissions
Your Daily Commissions unlock at Adventure Rank and until you reach that level, make sure you do as much as you can to get there. Once you do unlock Daily Commissions at AR12, make sure to complete them every day. Not only does it give you free primogems but also EXP points which add to your Adventure Rank.
4 Make Exploration A Priority
Exploration is the easiest and most laid-back thing you can do in Genshin Impact to earn EXP points. The gameplay is also bound to keep you entertained, since there are so many different ways in which you can do it. You can either unlock the teleport waypoints, find treasure chests, complete puzzles or find any oculi in the region. These all give EXP points which add to your Adventure Rank. Collecting the Oculi and offering them to the Statue of Seven will raise your Adventure Rank as well.
3 Fight Domains And Bosses
This might be a little hard at first when your character is at a lower level, but nonetheless, using your resin on bosses and inside domains will contribute a significant amount of EXP to your Adventure Rank. You need only to calim the rewards from the Leyline and wait for the rewards.

Curious about Genshin Impact's artifact system? This guide will help you get started.
It is recommended to head into domains once you reach AR45 since the RNG is much better at higher levels. Until then, stick to world bosses to collect materials for your characters.
2 Spend Resin On The Leyline Outcrops
Another way by which players can use their resin is through the Leyline Outcrops across Teyvat. Each region has the Blossom of Wealth and the Blossom of Revelation. These give players Mora and Adventure Books; two very important resources needed for character ascension and other activities. It takes 20 Resin to consume and players will receive rewards, plus EXP points. It's always recommended to farm as much of this as you can early on in the game.
1 Refer To The Adventurer's Handbook
If you get stuck and don't know what else to do, refer to the Adventurer's Handbook at the top right of the screen. That will give you a list of things to complete and, upon doing so, you can earn some Adventure EXP. Clicking on the task will take you directly to it and they all vary from combat to collection type.
