Tenebrous Papilla Boss Location In Genshin Impact
Tenebrous Papilla boss in Genshin Impact is located east of the Flower-Feather Clan area in Natlan. The Abyssal foe resides in an underground area called Corrodded Stone Chamber. Defeating this enemy and using Resin to claim the reward will grant players the Ensnaring Gaze drop, which is required for character Ascension.
How To Reach Tenebrous Papilla Boss In Genshin Impact
There are two ways to reach the Tenebrous Papilla boss location in Genshin Impact:
- Go to the river east of the Masters of the Night-Wind area and find an opening to a small cave, directly to the east. Keep heading inside to find the boss.
- Head to the Flower-Feather Clan reputation totem, then head east to find a hole in the ground. Plunge down and follow through the halls to eventually see the Tenebrous Papilla boss.
How To Beat Tenebrous Papilla Boss In Genshin Impact
To beat the Tenebrous Papilla boss in Genshin Impact, players must be ready to break its Void Ward. As an Abyssal enemy, Tenebrous Papilla can turn into different monsters throughout Teyvat. In summary, the Tenebrous Papilla can transform into the following bosses: Aeonblight Drake, Jadeplume Terrorshroom, Cryo Regisvine, Electro Regisvine, Pyro Regisvine, Maguu Kenki, Primo Geovishap, Cryo Hypostasis, Electro Hypostasis, Hydro Hypostasis, Legatus Golem, Millennial Pearl Seahorse, and Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King.
Although the boss turns into different enemies and can use all available Elements, the Tenebrous Papilla has the normal 20% RES for all kinds of damage, which lowers to -15% when incapacitated.
After around 30 seconds into the fight, the boss would have already turned into three different forms. Afterward, the Tenebrous Papilla will go to the center of the arena and start charging for around 12-15s.
In this charging state, the boss will have a Void Ward that protects it from all kinds of damage. To break the Tenebrous Papilla's Void Ward, players must hit it with Elemental or Nightsoul-aligned attacks. The Void Ward has over 50 hits durability, but each Nightsoul-aligned attack takes three durabilities instead of one. Therefore, using Natlan characters is highly recommended for the Tenebrous Papilla boss fight.
Similar to the Rifthound Wolves in Genshin Impact, the Tenebrous Papilla also applies a debuff that reduces HP while bypassing a shield. The Attrition debuff is applied with the Tenebrous Papilla's attacks. Most hits aren't deadly and are easy to avoid, but if you fail to destroy the Void Ward, the Tenebrous Papilla will create a huge explosion and apply enough Attrition to take more than 60% of your active character's HP.
Tenebrous Papilla Team Composition In Genshin Impact
The best team comp to beat Tenebrous Papilla in Genshin Impact is the one that includes at least one Natlan character. Chasca is especially excellent since her attacks aren't only Nightsoul-aligned, but she also deals multiple hits each time, which will quickly destroy the Void Ward's durability. If Chasca is not available, then Ororon's frequent hit is also excellent for chipping the Void Ward while off-field.
After choosing the Nightsoul-aligned attackers, players should also bring other Elemental DMG spammers. The Elemental Burst of characters like Xiangling, Ayaka, Kuki Shinobu, Amber, Yelan, and Xingqiu are some of the best examples of off-field Elemental DMG dealers. As for on-field main DPS, units like Neuvillette, Ayato, and Yoimiya are great for destroying Tenebrous Papilla's Void Ward.
Of course, if players are strong enough, they can also use meta teams in Genshin Impact to quickly defeat the Tenebrous Papilla before the boss even begins the charging state.
