Alhaitham is a DPS-focused character in Genshin Impact that utilizes Dendro infusion to generate Chisel-Light Mirrors to deal great amounts of elemental damage with his auto-attacks and Elemental Burst. His play style is seemingly similar to Keqing' s due to the animation and overall kit description, but their kits vary due to the exclusive Chisel-Light Mirrors mechanic. To get the most out of Alhaitham's damage output, it is essential to understand the correct order and timing of his abilities.
As Alhaitham is best suited for the on-field main DPS role that takes advantage of elemental reactions, his weapon, artifact set, and stats should be carefully selected to optimize his performance. A good ratio of Crit Damage, Crit Rate, and Elemental Mastery should be prioritized to ensure optimal performance. Fortunately, there are plenty of suitable weapon and artifact set options in Genshin Impact that can help Alhaitham reach his full potential.

Alhaitham Best Build - Best Weapon
Other than Light of Foliar Incision, Alhaitham's signature and best weapon, players can also choose from a variety of 5-star and 4-star swords in Genshin Impact that can maximize their damage. The ideal weapons would provide Crit DMG or Crit Rate, or, if those are not available Elemental Mastery. Players can consider a variety of great DPS sword options which Alhaitham can easily activate, such as Primordial Jade Cutter and Mistsplitter Reforged for 5-star options. If a player happens to have any of these weapons on hand, they can easily skip Light of Foliar Incision as there won't be a significant damage difference.
Alhaitham also has some excellent 4-star weapon options available, such as the Black Sword, Toukabou Shigure, and Iron Sting. The Black Sword is only available with an unlocked Battle Pass, but the other two weapons can be crafted or obtained for free during a limited-time event, respectively.
Alhaitham Best Build - Best Artifact
The best artifact for Alhaitham in Genshin Impact is the Gilded Dreams set. Not only does it provide Alhaitham with an increase in Elemental Mastery or ATK%, depending on the team composition, but it also works perfectly in combination with 4pc Deepwood Memories. It is recommended that another character in the team, preferably a Dendro user, equip 4pc Deepwood Memories for maximum damage output. If it is not possible for anyone else in the team to use Deepwood Memories, then Alhaitham can also make good use of the set bonus by equipping it himself.
It is also quite viable to mix and match two set bonuses, allowing players to customize their builds to their own unique playstyle while using some universal artifact sets.
- 2pc EM +80 + 2pc EM +80
- 2pc EM +80 + 2pc Dendro DMG+15%
- 2pc EM +80 + 2pc ATK 18%
Typically, Alhaitham's artifact sub-stats and main stats do not differ significantly from those of any other DPS character. However, Alhaitham scales better with Elemental Mastery than with ATK%, so it is recommended that Elemental Mastery be prioritized over ATK% for both the main stat on the Timepiece and its sub-stats, if possible.
In general, the artifact sub-stats should prioritize Crit DMG/Crit Rate > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery > ATK%. The Gilded Dreams 4pc set bonus grants Alhaitham a significant amount of Elemental Mastery, so Energy Recharge should be prioritized over other stats. Depending on the team composition and if players are using a Crit DMG/Crit Rate weapon, Energy Recharge can even be prioritized over these as well.
The choice of main stat for Alhaitham's Circlet largely depends on the weapon he's equipping. For instance, if Alhaitham is equipped with Light of Foliar Incision or Mistsplitter Reforged, it may be advantageous to equip Crit Rate, whereas Primordial Jade Cutter or Haran Geppaku Futsu will have the opposite.
