Amber is a Pyro Bow-user in Genshin Impact, beloved as she is the first character Travelers meet on their journey in Teyvat. However, as a free 4-star character, Amber is often overlooked in favor of higher-rarity or newer characters, but she can be a valuable addition to any team. She's particularly useful in exploration since she can light torches and solve some puzzles in the game world. The world of Genshin Impact is constantly expanding, with new characters and weapons added to the game regularly. With each update, players have more options when it comes to choosing the best weapons for their characters. This is especially true for Amber, whose effectiveness as a bow user can be greatly enhanced by equipping her with the right weapon.
Amber offers several choices when it comes to weapons, featuring both 4-star and 5-star options that offer their own unique pros and cons. The selection of the best weapon for Amber may vary depending on the player's preferred gameplay style and preferences. It is worth noting that Amber is most effective when utilized as a Main DPS or Burst Support character. Interestingly, most of Amber's best weapons are Mondstadt themed, as fitting for the Outrider of the Knights of Favonius.
6 Prototype Crescent
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 41.3% ATK
- R5 Effect: Charged Attack hits on weak points increase Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 72% for 10s.
For players looking for a free-to-play option, the Prototype Crescent is an excellent choice as it is one of the craftable weapons available in Genshin Impact. This bow is especially useful for those who plan to use Amber as a Main DPS since it requires players to aim shots at enemy weak spots, resulting in a significant increase in her ATK. However, it's worth noting that not all enemies have weak points, or they may be challenging to hit in some instances. At refinement level 5, the Prototype Crescent provides a 72% ATK boost for 10 seconds, making it an attractive choice for players looking to maximize Amber's damage potential. King's Squire, a craftable weapon that can be found while exploring Sumeru, is another great option for players looking to utilize Amber's Pyro elemental reactions. This weapon provides a significant boost to Elemental Mastery with its special effect.
5 Favonius Warbow
- Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 61.3% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: CRIT hits have a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 6 s.
Favonius Warbow is a great option for players who want to utilize Amber as a Burst Support, since the Energy Recharge secondary stat and the effect can be beneficial for generating more elemental particles for the entire team. However, players should be aware that in order to activate the Windfall effect of this bow, the active character using the weapon must land a critical hit while on the field. This means that although Amber's Skill and Elemental Burst can be used off-field, the Windfall effect will not be triggered even if she lands a critical hit. It's important to note that once energy particles are generated from a critical hit, they can be collected and shared with another character on the team.
4 Aqua Simulacra
- Primary Stat: 542 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 88.2% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: HP is increased by 16%. When there are opponents nearby, the DMG dealt by the wielder of this weapon is increased by 20%. This will take effect whether the character is on-field or not.
Yelan's signature weapon, The Aqua Simulacra, is a 5-star bow that is particularly well-suited for DPS characters and off-field damage dealers. While Amber has the potential to fulfill both of these roles with her on-field and off-field capabilities and make good use of the high ATK and the Crit DMG stats, the added HP bonus on the special effect of this weapon does not benefit her as much as it does for some other characters. Therefore, while The Aqua Simulacra is a strong contender, it may not be the ideal choice for Amber.
3 The Stringless
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery + 165
- R1 Effect: Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24%.
The Stringless is a very popular 4-star weapon in Genshin Impact, especially for sub-DPS characters that focus on their Elemental Skill and Burst. Its potent effect makes it particularly useful for teams that want to utilize Amber for Elemental Reactions, and it can be easily obtained through (standard) gacha pulls. For players who want to use Amber for elemental reactions, primarily as an off-field character, The Stringless is an ideal option as it doesn't have any prerequisites to activate its effects like the other 4-star gacha weapon, Favonius Warbow. At just refinement Level 1, The Stringless offers a significant boost to damage, making it the optimal choice for a 4-star weapon for Amber. Its versatility in boosting Amber's elemental reactions as well as her overall damage, makes it a highly recommended option for those looking to maximize the team's damage potential.
2 Skyward Harp
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 22.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Increases CRIT DMG by 20%. Hits have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4s.
Skyward Harp is an exceptional choice for any bow-wielding character focused on dealing damage, providing Crit Rate as a secondary stat and Crit DMG with its special effect, all without any prerequisites. Its versatility makes it a great option for any Amber play style, whether as an Elemental Skill/Burst-focused character or a primary DPS, as it essentially enhances any kind of attack. Even if players have a Skyward Harp that is not being used by any other character, it's worth considering testing it on Amber to see the full extent of her potential. As a standard pool 5-star weapon, it may be more accessible than other top-tier 5-star weapons.
1 Elegy For The End
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% Energy Recharge
- R1 Effect: A part of the "Millennial Movement" that wanders amidst the winds. Increases Elemental Mastery by 60. When the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 4 Sigils of Remembrance, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the "Millennial Movement: Farewell Song" effect for 12s. "Millennial Movement: Farewell Song" increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20s. Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement," buffs of the same type will not stack.
If players want to use Amber primarily as a Burst Support, especially focusing on Elemental Reactions and buffing other team members, Elegy of the End is another great option. With this weapon, Amber can gain stacks even while off-field, which will allow her to buff all team members' Elemental Mastery and ATK. Although Elegy of the End's long description can be confusing for some players, its mechanics are actually quite simple. To activate its effect, the character wielding the weapon (in this case, Amber) needs to gain stacks by damaging enemies with their Elemental Skill and Burst. While characters like Venti, whose Elemental Skill and Burst stay on the field for a long duration, benefit more from this bow, it is still a great bow option for Amber, despite her Burst not lasting as long.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
