Nilou was a niche character upon release, but with the non-stop wave of new Dendro characters in Genshin Impact, her viability rose massively. However, as she’s a 5-star character, it’s no surprise that not many people own her. Fortunately, for F2P players, there’s now a somewhat-budget-version of Nilou called Kaveh.

Kaveh is a 4-star unit that can enhance Bloom DMG when his Elemental Burst is active. Unfortunately, this effect demands him to have sufficient Energy, which means some of the best weapons for Kaveh in Genshin Impact are Claymores with Energy Recharge.

8 Bloodtainted Greatsword

kaveh using bloodtainted greatsword in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 354 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 187 Elemental Mastery
  • R5 Effect: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Pyro or Electro by 24%.

Bloodtainted Greatsword is a 3-star Genshin Impact weapon that’s good for Kaveh for its Elemental Mastery sub-stat. This Claymore should only be used by beginner players as its performance is far behind higher-star options. Players also likely won’t be able to activate the weapon’s passive as ideally, the enemy should not have Pyro nor Electro aura in a Burgeon, Hyperbloom, or, of course, a normal Bloom team.

7 Rainslasher

kaveh using rainslasher in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 165 Elemental Mastery
  • R5 Effect: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Hydro or Electro by 36%.

Rainslasher is an excellent Elemental Mastery stick for Kaveh, but people should be aware of its passive. In a Bloom team, players will play with Hydro characters, but it doesn’t guarantee the enemy will be affected by Hydro. Unless players have sufficient Hydro application to keep the aura up, they shouldn’t hope too much in Rainslasher’s passive.

6 Favonius Greatsword

kaveh using favonius greatsword in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 61.3% Energy Recharge
  • R5 Effect: CRIT hits have a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 6s.

The main star of Kaveh’s kit is his Elemental Burst as it allows him to increase all Bloom DMG generated by the team. However, Kaveh won’t be able to regain his Energy without having enough Energy Recharge (ER). His Elemental Skill only generates two Energy, and despite its low cooldown, players will suffer if they don’t throw in some ER stats for their Kaveh. This is where Favonius Greatsword comes in. Besides having a massive ER sub-stat, this Claymore will also support the entire team. Just remember to have some Crit Rate stat as the weapon’s passive can’t be triggered without it.

5 Katsuragikiri Nagamasa

kaveh using katsuragikiri nagamasa in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 45.9% Energy Recharge
  • R5 Effect: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 12%. After Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 5 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.

Players who don’t have Favonius but have enough Weapon Prototypes in Genshin Impact can head to Inazuma and get their hands on Katsuragikiri Nagamasa’s blueprint. This Claymore takes Energy when players use Elemental Skill, but will return it two seconds later along with some additional Energy. It’s even possible for people to use Kaveh’s Burst immediately after using his Skill. This way, the game considers that the Energy are spent even though the character still manages to use their ultimate. This will immensely help Kaveh regain his Burst, especially if the Claymore is on max refinement.

4 Makhaira Aquamarine

kaveh using makhaira aquamarine in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 165 Elemental Mastery
  • Effect: The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 24% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.

Although it doesn’t contain Energy Recharge, Makhaira Aquamarine is great for its ATK-based-on-Elemental-Mastery boost.

Some of these buffs are even bestowed to the entire Genshin Impact team, making it somewhat supportive.

3 Forest Regalia

kaveh using forest regalia in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
  • R5 Effect: After triggering Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, a Leaf of Consciousness will be created around the character for a maximum of 10s. When picked up, the Leaf will grant the character 120 Elemental Mastery for 12s. Only 1 Leaf can be generated this way every 20s. This effect can still be triggered if the character is not on the field. The Leaf of Consciousness' effect cannot stack.

If players feel like they have excess Energy regeneration, they can forge Forest Regalia instead of Katsuragikiri Nagamasa. This Claymore also has an Energy Recharge sub-stat, but its passive increases Elemental Mastery instead. This Elemental Mastery boost can be used by Kaveh himself or by another character in Genshin Impact, making it offensive and supportive at the same time.

2 Mailed Flower

kaveh using mailed flower in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 110 Elemental Mastery
  • R5 Effect: Within 8s after the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent or the character triggers an Elemental Reaction, their ATK and Elemental Mastery will be increased by 24% and 96 respectively.

Mailed Flower is excellent for a split-scaling unit like Kaveh. It increases both Elemental Mastery and ATK, making it an all-rounder Claymore for him. Additionally, the passive also aligns with his 6s cooldown. The fact that it’s a F2P weapon makes it even better.

1 Skyward Pride

kaveh using skyward pride in genshin impact
  • Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 36.8% Energy Recharge
  • Effect: Increases all DMG by 8%. After using an Elemental Burst, Normal or Charged Attack, on hit, creates a vacuum blade that does 80% of ATK as DMG to opponents along its path. Lasts for 20s or 8 vacuum blades.

Skyward Pride provides Energy Recharge and increases universal DMG by 8%. Its passive is usually useless, but since Kaveh will be taking field time after using his Burst, he can easily activate the extra Physical DMG from it. Additionally, as players will be using Kaveh’s Normal hits, Skyward’s high base ATK will come in handy.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
