Back to All Characters

Although many Genshin Impact fans are pretty familiar with Collei thanks to her role in the manga, she was finally released as a playable character in the game at the beginning of the Sumeru arc. Though she's only a four-star, she's exciting for two reasons: the aforementioned familiarity in the player base, and the fact that she's one of the first playable Dendro characters ever released.

Anyone hoping to add Collei to their team should level her up and upgrade her talents. Her talents and ascension both require a host of materials and Mora, which this guide will outline.

Collei is one of the first playable characters to need Nagadus Emerald, which is the ascension gem for Dendro characters. Additionally, she'll need a few items found in Sumeru and some Hilichurl drops.

Gemstones - Where to Find Nagadus Emerald

While many players had stockpiles of the elemental gems that were around since the game's launch, Nagadus Emerald will have been in much shorter supply, since it wasn't available until Sumeru debuted. As such, how to get Nagadus Emerald was at the forefront of many players' minds.

Most of this green gem will come from defeating bosses, the following of which are capable of dropping it:

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Hilichurl Arrowheads

The only Collei ascension materials that could be found before Sumeru's release are the Arrowheads dropped by Hilichurl Shooters. While any type of Hilichurl, Samachurl, Lawachurl, or Mitachurl can drop Masks, only Hilichurl Shooters (the ones with crossbows) are capable of dropping these ascension items.

The higher a Hilichurl Shooter's level, the better their drops can be, as shown here:

  • Any level: Firm Arrowhead
  • Level 40 and up: Sharp Arrowhead
  • Level 60 and up: Weathered Arrowhead

Boss Drop - How to Get Majestic Hooked Beak

Collei's boss item is the Majestic Hooked Beak, which is only obtained in one place: Sumeru. Specifically, this item will drop from the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, a normal boss that is found in the northwest part of the region's rainforest area.

This boss has a pretty high resistance to Dendro damage, so Collei might not be the best bet for who to bring into battle.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Rukkhashava Mushrooms

Every region is home to some local specialty items, and every character will use one of them for their ascension. Collei's is a regional Sumeru specialty: Rukkhashava Mushrooms. These blue and purple fungi can be found most commonly in the Avidya Forest and the Ashavan Realm, and many of them may be dotted around underground caves.

Unfortunately, Rukkashava Mushrooms cannot be grown in the Serenitea Pot, but there are two vendors who sell them: Ashpazi, in Gandarvha Ville, and Aramani, an Aranara found under a rock formation in Varanara. Both of them sell five Rukkhashava Mushrooms for 1,000 Mora each, restocking every three days.

Talent Books - Praxis

Every character's talents will require a specific talent book, and Collei's are the Praxis series. These books can be found in the Steeple of Ignorance domain, but only on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Trounce Materials - Tears of the Calamitous God

Though most of Collei's ascension and talent items can be found in Sumeru, she'll need to take a quick jaunt over to Inazuma for her trounce mat. This is the item called Tears of the Calamitous God, which is a drop from the fight against the Shogun in the End of the Oneiric Euthymia domain.

This domain is only farmable once per week, and isn't available until the player completes the second chapter of the Raiden Shogun's story quest. This quest is titled Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act II - Transient Dreams. Check out our quest walkthrough here.
