Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has officially launched the newest beta test for its upcoming action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero. The developer first showed off the game early last year, introducing the action RPG's modern urban setting and flashy combat while simultaneously announcing the first closed beta test for HoYoverse's newest RPG. The game has already shown off multiple characters from its initial cast, including gunslinging cyborg Billy and the mysterious sword-wielding Anby. Now, even more players will get their first chance to dive into the RPG's stylish world.

Zenless Zone Zero serves as the most recent example of HoYoverse's efforts to branch out following the massive success of Genshin Impact. HoYoverse launched Honkai: Star Rail earlier this year as a spinoff of the developer's long-running Honkai franchise to massive success. The developer also revealed the massive "Part 2" update to Honkai Impact 3rd, introducing an overhaul of the game's combat system and a new cast of original characters coming next year. Now, Zenless Zone Zero is taking the developer's spotlight with its newest beta test.

A brand-new trailer from HoYoverse, titled "Don't Get Hit on Your Second Commission~," celebrates the launch of a new beta testing period for Zenless Zone Zero. The test, referred to by HoYoverse as an "Equalizing Test," officially debuted on Thursday evening without an announced end date from HoYoverse. The trailer did not confirm what content would be included within the beta test. However, Zenless Zone Zero's newest trailer did show off several expected playable characters, including Anton Ivanov and Koleda Belobog.

Alongside its stylized setting and flashy gameplay, fans have already noticed a number of subtle homages to HoYoverse's past games. One of the playable characters, the previously mentioned Koleda, shares her last name with the name of the first city players can explore within Honkai: Star Rail. The developer has not been shy with its crossover characters in the past, previously introducing Horizon: Zero Dawn's Aloy into Genshin Impact and featuring several Honkai Impact 3rd characters within Star Rail. HoYoverse has yet to confirm a release date for Zenless Zone Zero.

Zenless Zone Zero will look to follow up the massive success HoYoverse has already seen throughout 2023. Honkai: Star Rail reported over 20 million downloads from its excited fanbase within just a day of the game's official launch. Genshin Impact has also seen continued success with its newest characters, with Furina's recent addition to Genshin Impact's roster becoming one of the game's highest-grossing gacha banners. Zenless Zone Zero's unique aesthetics and stylized action are set to be another popular addition to HoYoverse's growing lineup of games.
