Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has announced Petit Planet, an upcoming cozy cosmic life simulation game. The next game from HoYoverse will be available for PC and mobile devices, and is currently looking for players to test it before the official release, so many gamers will have a unique chance to play Petit Planet early.

HoYoverse is well-known for its big gacha hits such as Genshin Impact and the Honkai franchise. Genshin Impact has accumulated over $5 billion in revenue over the years, for example, making it one of the most successful games of all time. The company has also kept busy releasing other hit titles in recent years, such as Zenless Zone Zero, and Petit Planet is the next game coming from the gaming giant.

Genshin Impact Developer HoYoverse Announces Petit Planet

Petit Planet is set to be a cosmic life simulation game with strong Animal Crossing vibes. In it, players will be able to personalize a small planet and connect it to neighboring worlds. As usual in games of this genre, activities such as planting and harvesting crops, fishing, cooking, mining, and crafting will be available, and players will get the chance to befriend their local Neighbors, who will each come with distinct personalities. Many elements of each world will be customizable, such as the color of the sky, beaches, and even the grass, and players will be able to meet others in activities such as the Galactic Bazaar, a shared social hub which will feature mini-games. Gamers who want to play Petit Planet early can participate in the “Coziness Test,” which is currently available to sign up via the official website.

With colorful, cute graphics, Petit Planet seems like the perfect pick for gamers who love life sims. To compete with games such as Stardew Valley or the Animal Crossing franchise, however, the title will have to offer plenty of interesting content. However, considering how adept HoYoverse is at making frequent updates to titles such as Genshin Impact, gamers will likely have plenty to do in this cosmic adventure.

Petit-Planet

Petit Planet is not the only new game recently announced by HoYoverse, though. Back in August, the Genshin Impact developer also announced Honkai: Nexus Anima. Set to be a creature-collector adventure strategy game from the same universe as Honkai: Star Rail, Honkai: Nexus Anima will probably play like something that resembles Pokemon. Like Petit Planet, Honkai: Nexus Anima still does not have an official release date, but the “small-scale, closed beta test” is currently underway.
