Genshin Impact surprises the community by not creating one, but two explorable new sub-areas: Atocpan and Ancient Sacred Mountain. While the latter is located beneath the volcano in Atocpan, the map is extremely large, and players are excited to explore and uncover all the hidden secrets in this area, including the long-awaited new treasure chests.
The Ancient Sacred Mountain is not related to the Archon Quest, but it has a strong connection to the little Saurian companion that Travelers encounter when they first step into Natlan. After completing various quests related to the Little One, players will be able to unlock the quest that allows them to reach the Ancient Sacred Mountain.
1 Defeat the Hidden Enemy
Go to the farthest waypoint in Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds and indwell a nearby Tatankasaurus before breaking the Pulverite to the southeast. An enemy will appear and once you defeat it, you will get a Common Chest.
2 Discover the Hidden Room
Now, teleport to the waypoint in the middle of Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds and head east towards an open area with a single glowing block on the ground. Use a Tatankasaurus' slam attack to break the block and uncover the hidden area underneath it. Continue using Tatankasaurus's sprint towards all the Pulverites at the current level to find another glowing block on the ground. Break it and enter the lowest level to find the last chunk of Pulverites. Break it and you will find a treasure chest on top of a Secret Source Dragon Idol's head.
3 Reach the Floating Island
From the previous position, activate the Dragon Idol, and it will bring you to the top of the mountain in Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds. Indwell the Qucusaur and fly to the north until you see a floating island. In this island alone, there are three treasure chests to be collected.
4 Dig the Qucusaur's Nest
Use the teleport waypoint northeast of Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds and head further north towards the edge of the island to find Qucusaur's nests. One of the nests has a 'Dig' option, and once you do so, a treasure chest will appear.
5 Break the Pulverites
- Go to the island in the middle of the Ancient Sacred Mountain, where it leads to the Sea of Shifting Sentience. There will be a duo of Yumkasaur, and you can indwell one of them before grabbing the nearby exploding plant. Throw it to the Pulverite to break it and get the treasure chest that spawns afterward.
- The second chunk of Pulverite can be found underneath the waypoint of the Ruined Armament Workshop. This time, indwell a Tatankasaurus and break the Pulverite to get the treasure chest in Genshin Impact.
6 Complete the Flowlight Targets Challenge
Next, teleport to the waypoint northeast of Sea of Shifting Sentience, and head west to the edge of the lava pool. You can find a Secret Source Servant on top of a waterwheel. In one of the slots, there is a Flowlight Target. Indwell a Koholasaurus and attack the target, causing it to break and triggering a hidden challenge. Continue breaking all the Flowlight Targets, and you will get an Exquisite Chest as a reward.
7 Destroy the Oozing Cores
- South of the Sea of Shifting Sentience, there are multiple smaller islands. Use a Yumkasaurus in that area to glide through the island and reach one with two Oozing Cores. Grab the exploding plant beside the cores and throw it to make the Oozing Cores disappear and get a treasure chest.
- The second location with Oozing Cores to be destroyed is located south of the Ruined Armament Workshop in Genshin Impact. This time, you can indwell a Tatankasaurus and sprint through the Oozing Cores to break them.
8 Break the Phlogiston on the Wall
Teleport to the Sea of Shifting Sentience southeast waypoint and head southwest to indwell a Tatankasaurus. With the Saurian, trudge to the north to find a Phlogiston rock on the wall. Use the Tatankasaurus and ram through the wall to break it and spawn an enemy. Defeat it to get a hidden treasure chest.
9 Win the Race
Go to the waypoint right below the Heart of Force Inversion, and find a Secret Source Servant in the west. Interact with the servant to start a racing tournament with other Tatankasaurus. You can indwell a Tatankasaurus or use a playable character from "Collective of Plenty" and get the first place to win a treasure chest.
10 Activate the Waterwheel Mechanism
After completing the previous race, you will be near the waterwheel located on the east. In front of the waterwheel is a Phlogiston rock that can be destroyed temporarily using Tatankasaurus. Once you destroy it, the waterwheel will spin and reveal the hidden chest. Remember that it will only spin once and stop afterward. But don't worry, because the Phlogiston rock will reappear again, so you can keep trying until you get the treasure chest.
