Summary
- Genshin Impact's new web event "When the Mists Fade" lets players acquire 40 Primogems with ease.
- Update 5.3 is set to include new characters Citlali and Mavuika, sparking player debate on which to pull.
A new Genshin Impact web event allows players to acquire some Primogems with just a couple of clicks. Before every five-star character arrives, Genshin Impact typically releases a small promotional campaign that often includes teaser videos, merchandise announcements, and various web events.
The game has previously confirmed that the upcoming update 5.3 will be packed with tons of content, including three new roster additions. The two five-star characters, Citlali and Mavuika, are expected to arrive in the first part of the update, while Lan Yan is set to appear in the second banner phase.
Genshin Impact has revealed a web event named "When the Mists Fade," featuring one of the new five-star characters, Citlali. The event will run from December 25 to December 31. The web event is straightforward: players simply click "Start," choose a question, and let Citlali reveal their future. Some questions are game-related, such as asking about tomorrow's Daily Commissions, while others are more general, like inquiring if the player will have a good night's sleep. Upon getting an answer, players will receive their rewards, which currently include 40 Primogems, 2 Mystic Enhancement Ores, 3 Shivada Jade Fragments, and 20,000 Mora. Genshin Impact players appreciate it as an easy way to get free Primogems.
Genshin Impact: New Web Event Grants Free Primogems
Players expect another web event to start fairly soon, likely featuring the famous Pyro Archon, Mavuika, who is confirmed to make a banner appearance alongside Citlali. Fans suspect that Citlali's event seems less demanding because most of the developer's attention is focused on promoting Mavuika, a more popular character in the community. This isn’t surprising, considering that Archons, apart from the Traveler, are considered the main characters in Genshin Impact since the main storyline revolves around them.
However, some players have expressed a preference for pulling Citlali instead of Mavuika. One reason cited is that the Pyro Archon will likely receive a re-run much sooner. In general, players have been unhappy about the current state of Cryo characters in Genshin Impact. The introduction of the Dendro element has, to some degree, isolated Cryo since it cannot trigger any new elemental reactions.
Cryo users also don't get featured on banners often, as many playable units like Shenhe, Ganyu, and Wriothesley went over a year without a banner appearance. Citlali is expected to improve the overall state of Cryo characters in the current meta, as her kit seems to have great synergy with many Naltan units, including Genshin Impact's Pyro Archon herself.
