Genshin Impact will be giving away 1,000 Primogems in order to celebrate its latest accolade, HoYoverse has announced. The newly confirmed batch of Genshin Impact freebies will roll out to players in stages during the final week of August 2024.
HoYoverse's action RPG has amassed over a dozen high-profile awards since its September 2020 release. Genshin Impact added to its tally of accolades during the 2024 edition of Gamescom, having won the convention's Best Mobile Game award on August 23.

Genshin Impact Celebrates Gamescom 2024 Award With Free Primogems
Two days later, HoYoverse announced plans to celebrate its Gamescom 2024 award with a batch of 1,000 Primogems. These will be given away daily in increments of 200 between the 26th and 30th of August 2024. As per usual, the free currency will be sent to players via in-game mail, with new shipments arriving on each day of the promo period at midnight, server time. The exact time of their arrival will hence depend on whether one is playing on the North American, European, or Asian server. New players should keep in mind that in-game mail rewards are only unlocked after reaching Adventure Rank 7.
As is often the case with Genshin Impact freebies, this upcoming batch of rewards will be available to claim for 30 days. Players will hence have until September 29 to claim the final pack of 200 Primogems that is scheduled to reach their mailboxes on August 30. HoYoverse's announcement of this promotion also saw the developer thank its fans for their continued support, describing the Gamescom 2024 award as being yet another much-appreciated testament to "the charm of Teyvat."
The social media reactions to the promo appear to be universally positive, with some fans saying they were surprised to even see HoYoverse commemorate the Gamescom award, not least because the ARPG has already won so many of them. Prior to this achievement, Genshin Impact secured its most recent accolade in December 2023, when it was one of the three recipients of the PlayStation Partner Awards Grand Award, alongside Final Fantasy 16 and the Resident Evil 4 remake.
As for what is next for the hit game, Genshin Impact is soon set to receive another major update called Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn. Identified by version number 5.0, the upcoming release will introduce the game's sixth region, the nation of Natlan, inspired by a variety of indigenous cultures. Aside from a whole new map filled with quests, Genshin Impact update 5.0 will also debut three new characters, eight more weapons, and a couple of artifacts, among many other novelties. Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn is scheduled for release on August 28.
