Note that completing the Aqueous Tidemark quest is necessary for this location to unlock, so if players haven’t done it yet, they can head to the Statue of the Seven in the Court of Fontaine and look for Virgil, a man with a World Quest marker on top of his head.

The purple mud is also there for the same research purpose as the final sentence of the paragraph mentions how a similar discovery is found within the Chasm’s filth.
