Lan Yan is an Anemo shielder in Genshin Impact. She suffers from a scaling issue that divides her between two entirely different stats in Genshin Impact. She either scales with ATK% and functions as a shielder Support, or she scales with Elemental Mastery and operates as a quick in-and-out Sub-DPS that deals mediocre DMG.
This scaling problem used to affect the older 4-star units, which had multiple underwhelming roles determined by which stats you chose to develop, similar to Xinyan in Genshin Impact.
