Columbina can operate both as a main and a sub-DPS in Genshin Impact. However, she's far better as an off-field DPS/Support, since she can let the team shine with their Lunar reactions. Here are the best teams for Columbina:

With Columbina and Lauma’s buffs, Nefer can unleash some of the hardest-hitting attacks available. In any case, Nefer needs a Hydro unit on her team, and there’s no better option than Columbina, who’s designed to excel as a support for Lunar reaction teams.
As for Nilou, she’s amazing when building a team with only Dendro and Hydro characters. Her ability to make Dendro Cores explode immediately greatly benefits the team and fully takes advantage of Lauma and Columbina’s buffs. However, she’s not as essential as the others, so you can still replace her with characters like Kokomi, Nahida, Aino, Ineffa, or even Sucrose in Genshin Impact.
Columbina + Zhongli + Navia + Aino
Lunar-Crystallize is an interesting reaction that drops Moondrifts around enemies and can deal high DMG with the right team. These Moondrifts are considered Geo constructs, meaning they can react with Zhongli’s Stone Stele and release waves of Geo DMG. On top of that, you can keep generating Moondrifts around Navia while Columbina and Aino provide constant off-field Hydro application.
Navia excels when her team is triggering Crystallize reactions around her while she’s on the field. She can continuously pick them up to amplify her DPS. The only downside was that Crystallize used to be underwhelming. Now that Columbina makes it as strong as other Lunar reactions, it’s a huge buff for Geo characters, especially Navia teams in Genshin Impact.

Both Fischl and Columbina provide strong off-field Electro and Hydro applications, allowing Sucrose to Swirl their elements into frequent Hydro Swirl, Electro Swirl, and Lunar-Charged reactions.
