Summary
- Ifa in Genshin Impact is likely a 4-star Pyro character wielding a Catalyst.
- Effie may be the 5-star character in Ifa's expected Version 5.6 playable debut.
- The 5.6 update may potentially drop on May 7, 2025.
According to a reliable source in the Genshin Impact community, Ifa will wield a Catalyst, opening up the possibility of him using a revolver in combat. While there has been much speculation about Ifa and his role in Natlan, many Genshin Impact players have high hopes for the veterinarian of the Flower-Feather Clan. His talkative Ququsaurus companion, Cacucu, made his debut in Version 5.3, and Ororon has frequently mentioned his friendship with Ifa over the course of the Archon Quest. The stage is set for Ifa's introduction, which may just end up happening in Version 5.5.
While his playable debut is expected to be in Version 5.6, there are indications of Ifa being present in-game in Version 5.5. Unlike Varesa's model in Genshin Impact, Ifa is represented by a placeholder model of Keqing, which will likely be swapped out at launch to maintain the surprise. He was teased as an upcoming character during the developer livestream in Version 5.3, and his silhouette depicts a tall man wearing the signature cowboy hats of the Flower-Feather Clan.
Genshin Impact: 2025 Banner Rerun Wish List
Genshin Impact is sure to rerun plenty of banners in 2025, and it can use that opportunity to address the rerun wait list and other issues.
As explained by Mero, it would seem that Ifa is intended to be a Catalyst character in Genshin Impact. While certain players would have preferred for Ifa to wield a Sword, the Catalyst is arguably the most flexible option when it comes to character animations. The most common belief is that Ifa will be a 4-star Pyro character, given that the Flower-Feather Clan lacks a Pyro representative, and due to the earlier leak of Natlan having no 5-star Male characters outside Kinich. As such, Ifa being a Catalyst makes it possible for him to wield a revolver in combat, which would suit his gunslinger silhouette.
Genshin Impact: What Is Known About Ifa?
- Rarity: 4-star (Reliable)
- Element: Pyro (Speculative)
- Weapon: Catalyst (Reliable)
- Release: Version 5.6 (Speculative)
Should Ifa make a playable debut in Version 5.6 as a 4-star character in Genshin Impact, then it's likely that Effie, the mysterious woman from Fontaine, will be the 5-star of the patch. It should be noted that after Varesa and Iansan, the following characters remain unreleased: Effie, Ifa, Dahlia, and Skirk. Furthermore, Mare Jivari is expected to be the last Natlan map expansion, coming in either Version 5.6 or Version 5.7. Taking this into account, it's difficult to predict how HoYoverse will set up its release schedule for these characters.
The Lantern Rite teased Windblume for Mondstadt, so it's likely that Dahlia will be released during the festival itself. On the other hand, the new Artifact Sets in Genshin Impact have color schemes that seem to match Skirk and Dahlia's outfits. For now, it's important for Ifa fans to remain patient. A Natlan Catalyst is already a valuable teammate, and if the developers give Ifa a kit similar to Iansan and Ororon's caliber, it should make him an exciting character.
