Summary

  • Version 5.0 in Genshin Impact allows players to choose bounty difficulty instantly for Natlan targets, improving efficiency.
  • Maxing out Reputation Levels grants stylish gliders reflecting region themes, Natlan's new glider has a black-and-red color scheme.
  • Natlan's decentralized bounty system lets players select difficulty on the spot, making it easier to complete all three weekly bounties.

Weekly bounties are receiving an overhaul in Version 5.0, as Genshin Impact players will now be able to choose their bounty difficulty for Natlan targets on the spot. As a live service title, Genshin Impact has several layers of repeatable content for players to engage with – the Spiral Abyss, Artifact Domains, and even Bounties and Requests. The latter two serve as the primary source of Reputation Points, and each region has its own Reputation Level that is counted separately.

Though each tier comes with its own set of rewards, maxing out a Reputation Level gives players a stylish glider in Genshin Impact, whose visual identity tends to resemble the region's Archon or element. This tradition is set to continue in Natlan, as the new glider in Version 5.0 will have a black-and-red color scheme, designed with Mavuika in mind. However, though the process of obtaining Reputation Points remains unchanged, players will be able to tackle bounties in a much more efficient way in Natlan.

Instead of having to decide a bounty difficulty by speaking with the Reputation NPC in a region's capital, Natlan is designed to be more decentralized. According to a leak sourced from Jokerverse, Genshin Impact players will be able to pick a bounty difficulty on the spot. Though it is currently unclear if each tribe in Natlan has a separate bounty system, the bounty targets themselves appear to be shared. In theory, players will now be able to pick up and complete all three weekly bounties in Genshin Impact without having to talk to the Reputation NPC, though the exact details of the feature are still being tested.

Genshin Impact Could Be Expanding the Bounty System in Natlan

Though the Fontaine era has opened the floodgates for a myriad of quality-of-life improvements for Genshin Impact, Natlan is set to carry on the torch. The new feature for Bounties opens up the possibility for a more streamlined reputation system, as both Requests and Bounties are currently considered an unappealing and tedious piece of content in an otherwise beloved open world title. With the debut of the Imaginarium Theater, the developers have at least shown a willingness to experiment with the core aspects of Genshin Impact, such as introducing more variety in its endgame.

Natlan and Version 5.0 are expected to launch on August 28, 2024, and will bring three new characters to Genshin Impact and its ever-growing roster. Though the starting zone of Natlan will largely focus on the Geo, Dendro, and Hydro Tribes, the other three Tribes of Natlan will have their time in the spotlight in Version 5.1 and Version 5.2. It remains to be seen if the new Bounty system will pave the way for a more ambitious overhaul in future updates, but the foundation is certainly there.
