Summary
- Version 5.5 of Genshin Impact will introduce a new combat event called Unlimited Fighting Championship with multiple stages.
- The event involves increasing "Support Level" in the first half to receive buffs in the second half, fitting Natlan's war theme.
- Fans hope the event will lead to a permanent addition, potentially allowing the use of trial characters for special modifications.
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed exciting details about a new combat event that should arrive in the upcoming Version 5.5. Every new Genshin Impact update introduces new events, most of which are available only for the duration of that version, which is approximately 6-7 weeks.
Genshin Impact has previously confirmed that the next update will also introduce two playable units, the Collective of Plenty members Varesa and Iansan. Their official announcement has confirmed that both will be Electro users, but Varesa will apparently be a five-star character, while Iansan is expected to have a lower four-star rarity.
Genshin Impact Trick Accurately Calculates Teyvat's True Size
A Genshin Impact player demonstrates an interesting experiment that lets them calculate the exact width of the current Teyvat continent.
A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed a new event that will apparently be available in the upcoming update 5.5. According to the leak, the event will be called Unlimited Fighting Championship and will involve multiple stages. Each stage will have two rounds of combat. During the first half, players will need to level up according to the Arena rules and try to increase their "Support Level" as much as possible. Once the first half ends, the higher their Support Level, the more buffs they will receive for the second half. Overall, fans seem to be excited about this event, claiming that it suits Natlan's overall theme, especially considering that Genshin Impact's Pyro Archon is also known as the God of War.
Genshin Impact Players Want More Permanent Events
However, some fans have also pointed out that it's ironic for the event to be described as "unlimited," considering that it will probably disappear once Genshin Impact Version 5.5 ends. Many players hope that this event will serve as a test for a new permanent event that could be on the horizon in the foreseeable future. Others hope HoYoverse will allow players to use trial characters for this event, especially if some of the stages include special modifications, such as enemies taking more damage from Plunging Attacks.
This would not come as a big surprise, considering that Genshin Impact's new character, Varesa, relies on this attack type. HoYoverse usually tailors its limited-time events, as well as the Spiral Abyss rotation, in a way that makes new characters the best choice for these instances. Some fans have also praised Genshin Impact for including more and more combat-focused events in recent updates.
Based on these leaks, the only sure thing is that Genshin Impact's main storyline is finally returning to the Pyro nation after a long break in 5.4 and the second part of 5.3. While HoYoverse has yet to officially confirm the release date of the next update, players can expect Genshin Impact Version 5.5 to arrive around March 26.
