A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed how the upcoming character Escoffier performs when placed in a powerful team composition. Genshin Impact’s combat system allows players to feature up to four different characters in their team composition, enabling them to combine their attacks to trigger elemental reactions with various effects.
Even though Genshin Impact has yet to officially announce Escoffier, a new five-star Cryo character from Fontaine, recent leaks have confirmed that she is part of the current 5.6 beta, meaning she will arrive in the next update. Escoffier can be seen in Genshin Impact’s recently released Character Trailer for Varesa, suggesting that her official reveal is just days away.

A Genshin Impact leak reveals a set of interesting quality-of-life improvements expected to arrive in the game with the upcoming Version 5.6.
A credible Genshin Impact leaker named GI Kitchen has shared in-game footage showcasing how Escoffier performs when placed in a team with Furina, Neuvillette, and Citlali. The team relies on Neuvillette as the main DPS, while the other three characters provide support. According to the footage, Escoffier has great synergy with this team, which revolves around the Frozen elemental reaction. While Frozen does not directly amplify damage output, it immobilizes enemies on the field, making it much easier to reposition and accurately predict their movements. Previous Genshin Impact beta leaks have revealed that Escoffier’s kit relies on having Hydro and Cryo characters in her team, as one of her Talents allows her to shred enemies' resistances.
Genshin Impact Leak Shows Escoffier in Frozen Team Comp
Some comments have complained that HoYoverse has made Genshin Impact's Hydro DPS unit, Neuvillette, too powerful, as he seems to fit well into most team compositions, and almost no characters can keep up with his DPS numbers. Based on the leaked gameplay, Escoffier’s playstyle appears pretty simple, as players only need to deploy her Elemental Skill and use her Elemental Burst whenever it is available before switching to another character.
Lore-wise, it makes sense that Escoffier has strong synergy with Furina and Neuvillette, as all three belong to the Fontaine region. Escoffier’s release suggests that the main storyline will take Travelers back to the fan-favorite Hydro nation. This development is not surprising, considering the previous two updates took players to Liyue and Inazuma before returning to Natlan in Genshin Impact Version 5.6.
Escoffier won’t be the only new character in the next update, as Genshin Impact leaks have also revealed the long-awaited Ifa, whose design was showcased in the recent Special Program event. As for their release date, assuming both are featured in the first banner cycle, Genshin Impact players can expect Escoffier and Ifa to arrive around May 7.
