Recent information from the Genshin Impact beta reveals that Version 6.2 will come with major buffs to seven Mondstadt characters, allowing players to obtain them via a new series of quests. Released in September 2020, Genshin Impact has evolved considerably in the past half-decade. Its humble roster now features over a hundred playable characters, and not all of them have aged well over the years. Certain 4-Stars, such as Xingqiu and Bennett, continue to be staples even in Natlan and Nod-Krai teams, but many of those early characters were made during an era when HoYoverse hadn't yet refined its approach to gameplay design.
As such, Version 6.2 represents Genshin Impact's first effort to bring some of these characters back to the meta by introducing a faction system. Seven Genshin Impact characters from Mondstadt will be given a special Hexenzirkel tag in Version 6.2, granting them buffs when paired up with each other, but also introducing overall gameplay improvements to their ability kits. For example, footage from the beta highlighted Venti as an Anemo hypercarry, or Mona as an on-field driver for Hydro reactions.

Genshin Impact looks to be continuing an unpopular trend in Nod-Krai that once started with Natlan, urging players to hold onto their Primogems.

According to Honey Impact, players will be able to undergo a new storyline in Mondstadt featuring Lisa and Alice. Upon obtaining The Little Witch's Dictionary from the Witch's Homework quest series, players will be given a way to unlock new buffs for the following characters: Venti, Albedo, Mona, Klee, Fischl, Razor, and Sucrose. For example, Albedo's Geo Construct will continue to deal damage even when broken, while Fischl in Genshin Impact will grant ATK or Elemental Mastery buffs for Overload and Electro-Charged teams, respectively.
It should be noted that Version 6.2 will also introduce Durin to Genshin Impact as another Hexenzirkel character. Unfortunately, while some Constellation buffs are universal for Hexenzirkel characters, players will need at least two members of the Hexenzirkel to make the most out of the new buffs. While this may restrict team building to some degree, the character improvements have been received well by the Genshin Impact community thus far.
Assuming Version 6.2 succeeds in revitalizing these old Genshin Impact characters, HoYoverse may consider expanding the pool of Hexenzirkel members in the future. For now, players can look forward to pulling for Durin and Venti in the Event Banners for Version 6.2 of Genshin Impact. The developers will no doubt provide a deep dive during the upcoming Live Program Announcement on November 21, 2025, while Version 6.2 is expected to come out on December 3, 2025.
