Details about the upcoming Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact have leaked, with Version 5.7 promising to have a somewhat easier endgame than previous updates. Despite not having a map expansion, Version 5.7 is set to debut two new Genshin Impact characters, a game mode, and the next chapter of Dainsleif's storyline. While it will be a dry patch in terms of Primogem income, it should keep players entertained until Mare Jivari opens its doors in Version 5.8.
The new endgame mode in Genshin Impact is reportedly called Perilous Conflict, and it will run alongside the Imaginarium Theater and the Spiral Abyss. Whereas Imaginarium Theater allowed players to borrow each other's characters, Perilous Conflict will instead offer co-op. As for the Spiral Abyss, Version 5.7 will continue the trend of advertising 5-Stars on the current Event Banner – in this case providing buffs to Nightsoul and Cryo damage.
Genshin Impact Reveals 5-star Character Holding Rate for Update 5.6
A recent Genshin Impact chart highlights the most owned characters among endgame players in update 5.6, featuring some unexpected picks.
According to HomDGCat, the most reliable dataminer in the Genshin Impact community, the upcoming Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact will feature one half suited for Freeze, with the other half suited for Melt teams. It is currently unclear what this means for the Event Banners in Version 5.7, as the second half could feature any combination of Shenhe, Emilie, and Mavuika. This Spiral Abyss features both the Overseer Device from Version 5.6 and the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker from Version 5.3. It also has a double Wayob fight in the first half, but instead of being grouped up, the Wayobs spawn extremely far apart.

- Second Half: All party members' Nightsoul DMG will be increased by 75%.
- When a character triggers Cryo-related reactions, a shockwave will be released at the opponent's position, dealing True DMG to nearby opponents. This effect can be triggered once every 2.5s.
First Half

- Chamber #2: Ruin Guard, Ruin Grader, Construction Specialist Mek (Pneuma)
- Chamber #3: Rock-Cavernous Wayob Manifestation, Thundering Wayob Manifestation
Second Half
- Chamber #1: Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker
- Chamber #2: Eremite Stone Enchanter, Biting-Cold Wayob Manifestation, Eroding Avatar of Lava
- Chamber #3: Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King
The cycle for this Spiral Abyss should last from July 16 to August 16, 2025. This means that it is also a Spiral Abyss intended for Version 5.8, whose release date is estimated to be on July 30, 2025. Bearing this in mind, it's possible Version 5.8 will feature Citlali in Genshin Impact as a banner character, due to her role as Melt Support with specific ways of disarming the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker. While it appears to be an easier Spiral Abyss than previous ones in the Natlan era, it doubles down on the design philosophy of catering each Spiral Abyss half to a featured 5-Star character.
Rather amusingly, the Wayobs seem to be spaced apart in such a way as to encourage Skirk teams in Genshin Impact, to the detriment of Ayaka, a Freeze hypercarry who has traditionally shined at close quarter combat. Thanks to Escoffier's debut in Version 5.6, Ayaka teams have experienced a bit of a renaissance, and Ayaka herself is set to feature on the Inazuma Chronicled Banner on May 27, 2025. While the Spiral Abyss is subject to change during the beta, this information should help Genshin Impact players prepare accordingly.
