A recent Genshin Impact leak teased that Kimitsuki Ayano, a new Inazuma character, will reportedly be coming in Version 5.4. While Genshin Impact has not wrapped up its 5.2 update yet, several leaks regarding future patches have already emerged within the community.
Genshin Impact recently launched Version 5.2 with tons of fresh content for players, including an Interlude Archon Quest and the two new Natlan characters, Chasca and Ororon. Also in November, Genshin Impact revealed Mavuika as a future playable character and soon followed up with announcements for Citlali and Lan Yan in Version 5.3. Now, a new rumor hints that the 5.4 update may mark the debut of an Inazuma unit.
Reliable Genshin Impact leaker Full Stop Chan revealed a new character named Kimitsuki Ayano for Version 5.4. The unit is said to come from Inazuma, but no more details about their rarity and element have been shared. Full Stop Chan also added that Kimitsuki Ayano is a translation from Chinese, and may not be the final English version of the name. The report comes after earlier Genshin Impact leaks suggested an Inazuma character would be added in future patches. The reveal of Kimitsuki Ayano could also hint that some Inazuma content is on the way, possibly in the form of an event.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals New Inazuma Character
Not all Genshin Impact characters have a canonical last name in-game, but out of this small list, the majority come from Inazuma. Similar to Kamisato Ayaka and Sangonomiya Kokomi, Kimitsuki would be Ayano's last name. The last Inazuma unit added to Genshin Impact was Chiori during the game's Fontaine era, so it's not uncommon for Genshin Impact to launch characters from other regions unrelated to the current one. Genshin Impact Version 5.3 is rumored to hold the next Lantern Rite as well, with a new Liyue character on the way. However, there are still some unreleased Natlan units like Iansan, so developers will likely prioritize their debuts over characters from other regions.
Although new units often excite Genshin Impact players, fans have long been asking for a new Mondstadt character instead of an Inazuma one. While the rest of the nations have consistently expanded their roster, the last addition from the Anemo region was Mika in 2023. On the other hand, players should still look forward to Genshin Impact Version 5.3 banners, as they will feature Mavuika and Citlali, both rumored to become great support units for multiple teams.
