Recent datamining from the Genshin Impact beta has revealed a few notable changes for Skirk and Dahlia, as Version 5.7 eyes its release on June 18, 2025. One thing that has come to define Genshin Impact in the Natlan era is how quiet its beta cycles have been. Whereas Fontaine characters were often subjected to a lot of changes during beta, the developers seem to have more confidence in the Natlan cast overall.
A perfect example of this happens to be Escoffier, the new Genshin Impact character released in Version 5.6. While an argument could be made that Escoffier is an inelegant solution to fixing Freeze teams as a whole, the 5-Star Cryo Polearm has managed to revitalize a lot of old units like Ganyu and Ayaka, dragging them back to the meta for the first time since Sumeru. Skirk and Dahlia are extensions of Escoffier in a way, as both characters will be tied to Freeze – albeit in very different roles.
Genshin Impact Leaks Updated Banner Character List for 5.7
A new Genshin Impact leak reveals an updated list of limited characters that will be featured in the upcoming banners for Version 5.7.
While Skirk has been positively received over her ability kit, player impressions of Dahlia in Genshin Impact range from mildly disappointing to outright negative. According to HomDGCat, it would seem that HoYoverse is attempting to address some of Dahlia's key issues by increasing his shield strength. The latest changes have also improved Dahlia's attack speed buff, making him better than Mika at C6. As for Skirk, the base multipliers for her Elemental Burst have been nerfed, but her Serpent's Subtlety stacks have been buffed, resulting in an overall damage increase.

While the changes to Dahlia are welcome, players feel like more could be done to make the 4-Star Hydro Sword worthwhile. As things are, Dahlia may find some value in Skirk teams, but will otherwise be eclipsed by other Support characters in Genshin Impact. On the other hand, Skirk will likely be a great Freeze hypercarry, offering a modern alternative to Ayaka and Ganyu. She won't be the most powerful character in the game, as HoYoverse will continue to carefully tread the line of powercreep.
It remains to be seen how the roster will evolve in Nod-Krai. Natlan characters introduced Nightsoul to the equation, and all signs point that Version 6.0 will feature a new combat mechanic. There are rumors that Version 5.8 will debut a Hydro 5-Star to Genshin Impact, but very little is known about the next region and its characters. Version 5.7 is set to launch on June 18, 2025, while Version 6.0 will open its doors to the Traveler on September 10, 2025.
