Summary
- According to the leaks, Version 6.0 of Genshin Impact will introduce a new 5-Star Male Electro character from Nod-Krai.
- The upcoming character belongs to the Lightkeepers faction and will likely aid players in their journey.
- The trend of introducing male characters continues, with Version 5.8 expected to bring an Electro-Charged DPS character.
According to a reliable source in the Genshin Impact community, fans can look forward to playing a new 5-Star Male Electro character from Nod-Krai in Version 6.0. After getting their first glimpse of Nod-Krai in the latest developer livestream, Genshin Impact players have been met with a wave of new information about the upcoming region. Chief among them concerns the new 5-Star character coming in Version 6.0.
Whereas Version 5.8 will allegedly introduce an Electro-Charged Support character to Genshin Impact, the first patch of Nod-Krai will attempt to change course on a rather frustrating trend. Since Version 4.1, Genshin Impact has only introduced one male 5-Star – when Kinich was added to the playable cast at the start of Natlan. This lack of male characters in Genshin Impact has become a very popular topic in its community, and it seems that it was loud enough for HoYoverse to do something about it.
Genshin Impact Confirms Banner Characters for Version 5.7
Genshin Impact's recent Special Program event reveals which four characters will be featured on the limited banner in the upcoming Version 5.7.
As shared by hxg_diluc, Version 6.0 will debut a 5-Star Electro character who uses the "Tall Male" model, seemingly being the second male 5-Star to be released since October 17, 2023. If the leak turns out to be correct, Version 6.0 will also mark the first time Electro gets its Tall Male 5-Star, an outcome that was narrowly dodged when Ororon in Genshin Impact turned out to be a 4-Star.
Genshin Impact Could Be Adding a 5-Star Male Character Sooner Than Expected
The leak also claims that the new 5-Star character from Version 6.0 belongs to the Lightkeepers, a major faction from Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact. This organization has defended Nod-Krai from the Wild Hunt since the Cataclysm, and will likely establish itself as a valuable ally for the Traveler and Paimon in their quest to unravel the mysteries of Teyvat. It's important to note that Nod-Krai is all but guaranteed to feature more than one male 5-Star character, as the region is expected to add Durin and Varka to the playable cast as well.
Curiously, it would seem that Version 5.8 is setting up a new version of Emilie and Kinich in Genshin Impact, as it's highly likely that HoYoverse will follow up an Electro-Charged Support with an Electro-Charged DPS. This trend was mirrored with Citlali and Mavuika in Version 5.3, as well as Escoffier and Skirk. As such, Genshin Impact players should keep their eyes open for Version 5.8 and its upcoming character, especially if they're on the lookout for a modern Electro character. Version 6.0 is expected to launch on September 10, 2025.
