An interesting Genshin Impact poll has revealed the game's overall most popular character, as well as the best DPS and support picks. Genshin Impact's playable characters are the main focus of each update, which is very common for games with a gacha-based system.
Genshin Impact allows players to include up to four different characters in their team composition. Each of these characters usually fills different roles, from being the main damage dealer to providing powerful heals that keep the party alive. While some characters can fill multiple roles, others are much more restrictive and are generally used in only specific roles for most team compositions.
A popular Japanese website named GameWith conducted a survey in the game's community where players were asked to choose their overall favorite character and the best picks for two roles: DPS and support. Unsurprisingly, the most popular character overall is the Hydro Archon, Furina, who arrived in Genshin Impact's Fontaine arc. Furina's Archon Quest is considered by many to be the best storyline in the game so far, especially since it portrays the character in a much different way compared to previous ones. Furina is also the most popular support pick due to her stacked kit, which allows her to fit almost every team composition in the game that needs Hydro damage. Furina can also swap between the Pneuma and Ousia energy forms, which heavily impacts her playstyle.

Similar to Lady Furina, Wanderer, previously known as Scaramouche, has one of the most tragic backstories in Genshin Impact. Another reason behind his popularity is probably the fact that he used to be a member of the Fatui Harbingers, extremely powerful, high-ranking officers who work for the Genshin Impact's Cryo Archon Tsaritsa. Wanderer was one of the first Harbingers to make an in-game appearance, which generated a lot of popularity for him, even though he was not part of the playable roster at first.
According to the chart, the best DPS unit in Genshin Impact is another Fontaine character, the Hydro Dragon Sovereign, better known as Neuvillette.
