Since the Fontaine update arrived, Genshin Impact has added at least two new characters per update, with Navia being the most recent addition. She is currently featured on the first banner cycle of the ongoing version 4.3, which will also introduce a new four-star named Chevreuse during the second part of the update.

A Reddit user named gomalley411 has shared the results of an interesting survey that revealed the currently most popular characters in Genshin Impact's fan base. From the 2,799 responses, at the top of the list sits the recently introduced Hydro Archon Furina, who has been in the main spotlight during the Fontaine arc. Many fans claim that Genshin Impact's Archon Quests keep becoming increasingly better with each new region that arrives. Focalors, who also goes by the name Lady Furina, has had one of the best character development arcs in the whole game, which quickly made her a fan-favorite. Another reason behind her popularity is the fact that Furina is probably the best Hydro support in the game at the moment, with a kit that can adapt to almost any type of team composition.
According to the poll, the second most popular character at the moment is another Fontaine Hydro user named Neuvillette. As the Chief Justice of Fontaine, he is considered one of the most important individuals in the Hydro nation. The official storyline confirmed that Neuvillete is one of the Seven Sovereigns, who are known as the most powerful elemental dragons in all of Teyvat.
The recently introduced five-star character Navia took the third spot on the list, which came as a surprise to some fans. Since her first appearance back in Fontaine's first trailer, there has been a lot of hype around Navia, especially since her design indicated that she would be the first Geo user to join the Genshin Impact roster in a very long time. Yunjin, the Geo character released prior to Navia, arrived in the game way back in January 2022.
A lot of comments pointed out that recency bias seemed to play a big part in the poll results and, if certain Fontaine characters like Navia had not been released a couple of days ago, they would not have ranked as high. The highest-ranked character that has no ties to Fontaine is Genshin Impact's Dendro Archon Nahida in the fourth position.
