While exploring the wonderful world of Teyvat in Genshin Impact, you are bound to encounter a wide variety of hostile enemies, ranging from common mobs to elite enemies and even world bosses. At the top of the list, one might expect to see the names of weekly bosses. However, in terms of strength and health points, local legends hold the top spot.
Starting with Fontaine and Liyue’s Chenyu Vale, travelers can find extremely powerful enemies classified as Local Legends. As you venture into the Pyro nation, you will discover Natlan Local Legends, featuring adorable but deadly capybaras, a trio of Fatui agents with a combined HP of over three million, and many more. One such Local Legend is Rilai, Frozen Collar. She is the Local Legend variant of the elite enemy Iktomisaurus Warriors - Cryocrystal Cannon of the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe.
By fighting Local Legend Rilai, you can earn three achievements, but it is a hard-fought battle. Follow this guide to find Rilai’s location and learn how to defeat her to earn all three achievements.
Genshin Impact: All Local Legends In Natlan (Locations & Achievements)
Local Legends in Genshin Impact Natlan are not the most straightforward to find since some have a trigger for the battle.
Local Legend Rilai Location In Genshin Impact
You can find the Local Legend Rilai on the western side of the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe in Genshin Impact. To locate her, fast travel to the teleport waypoint southwest of the tribe. From there, head north to find Rilai peacefully playing a flute and minding her own business.
Rilai will not attack you unless provoked, but once you hit her, the fight begins. Like all Local Legends, Rilai is a challenging opponent, and you are likely to die a few times if you go into the battle unprepared.
How To Beat Local Legend Rilai
At World Level 9, Rilai boasts over two million health points and has attacks capable of one-shotting characters with lower defenses. Fortunately, her attacks are relatively easy to dodge as long as you fight her at melee range. When you stay close, Rilai cycles through three types of attacks repeatedly.
Consider fighting Rilai at close range, as her ranged attacks can be quite difficult and annoying to avoid.
- One of her common moves involves a quick slash followed by a teleport and a small lunging AoE attack. This combo is fairly easy to dodge, allowing you ample time to land hits.
- Another move involves launching homing Cryo missiles, which can be avoided by running toward her.
Between these two attacks detailed above, you will have plenty of opportunities to chip away at her health.
Rilai’s most dangerous move is an AoE attack called Fusion Nova, where she unleashes multiple Cryo explosions followed by barrels exploding over a large area around her. This can be avoided by running around her, but be careful not to get inflicted with Cryo, as it will slow you down. It is recommended to use a Cryo shielder like Layla or Diona since their shields have a 250% effectiveness against Cryo damage. For this fight, Bennett is not a recommended unit, as his ultimate inflicts teammates with a Pyro aura, enabling Rilai to trigger a Melt reaction for extra damage.
Genshin Impact: All Shield Users, Ranked
Genshin Impact doesn't have many shield users. Here's how every single one in the game compares.
How To Earn All Three Local Legend Rilai Achievements
By defeating Local Legend Rilai, you can earn up to three achievements under the Duelist: Series II category in Genshin Impact. You will need to fight Rilai at least three times to unlock all three achievements, as she is an Overworld enemy and respawns the next day.
- First Achievement: Simply defeat Rilai to earn five Primogems.
- Second Achievement: Defeat Rilai while she is attacking with Fusion Nova. This earns you 10 Primogems. Lower her HP until she is one or two hits away from defeat, bait out Fusion Nova, and then finish her off.
- Third Achievement: Defeat Rilai during her Fusion Nova attack without taking any hits. This is the most challenging and rewards 20 Primogems. Dodging attacks using iframes does not count, so it is recommended to use two Anemo units for the extra movement speed from Anemo resonance to help avoid her attacks.
While fighting Rilai for the third achievement, avoiding hits from her Fusion Nova attack can be challenging. If you think you got hit, simply teleport away from her to reset the fight. If you accidentally defeat her, you will need to wait for the server reset for Rilai to respawn.
