Summary
- Fans noticed Natlan lacks a prominent Pyro character, breaking a pattern observed in other regions.
- Genshin Impact update 5.7 will not include a Pyro character, disappointing players awaiting a tie to Natlan Archon.
- Speculation suggests the Pyro version of the Traveler could fill the role in the Natlan storyline.
Genshin Impact fans have noticed an interesting detail about Natlan’s characters that has left them wondering why one particular character type is missing. Natlan was the last major region introduced in Genshin Impact, back in update 5.0, and since then, the game has added tons of new playable units.
The ongoing Genshin Impact update 5.6 introduced two new characters: a five-star chef named Escoffier and a famous veterinarian named Ifa. Unfortunately, players who want to add them to their roster will have to wait a couple of months, as Phase 1 of update 5.6 has already ended.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Exciting Info About Skirk's Origin
A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about the upcoming 5-star character, the long-awaited Cryo sword user Skirk.
Every Genshin Impact region released so far has also introduced an Archon who serves as its fierce protector. Since the release of the Mondstadt region, the game has followed an interesting pattern of featuring one powerful “sidekick” character who works closely with the Archon and shares the same element. These characters are usually known for their leadership and story prominence. The first example of this appeared during the Mondstadt arc, which featured Venti as the Archon and Jean as the Acting Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius. While their methods of pursuing justice may have differed, their end goals were mostly aligned. A new post by a Reddit user named 1-NotReal pointed out that this pattern has been present in every other region, except the recently released Pyro nation.
Genshin Impact Players Want a Specific Pyro Character
The post gained significant traction in the community, reaching over 4k upvotes on Genshin Impact’s main subreddit. Many players claim they’ve been waiting for HoYoverse to officially introduce a new Pyro character tied to the Natlan Archon Mavuika, similar to how Alhaitham’s storyline is connected to Nahida, or how Furina and Neuvillette work together in Fontaine. However, it seems HoYoverse may be breaking this pattern with Natlan, as there are currently no credible rumors suggesting a new Genshin Impact Pyro character is planned for upcoming updates.
It has been confirmed that Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will not include a Pyro character, as HoYoverse has officially revealed two new playable units: the Cryo user Skirk and the Hydro four-star character Dahlia. One minor complaint fans have about the chart provided by 1-NotReal is that they would probably swap out Sara with Yae Miko, as she seems like a better fit for this "helper" role in Inazuma.
Players also suspect it’s highly unlikely that version 5.8, which should be the last update before a new region arrives, will feature a character so central to the Natlan storyline. Some have suggested that Genshin Impact's Pyro version of the Traveler could potentially fill this role. A few comments also pointed out that it feels unusual for Genshin Impact to feature only one Pyro character throughout the entire Natlan arc, especially considering that Pyro is the region’s symbolic element.
