Summary

  • Neuvillette is a powerful and self-sustaining DPS hydro unit with optional constellations for extra boosts in Genshin Impact.
  • Kazuha is a flexible Anemo unit that can fit various team compositions and excels as a supportive or damage-dealing character.
  • Players can choose between Neuvillette and Kazuha based on their playstyle preferences and whether they want a strong on-field DPS or versatile support.

The second half of Genshin Impact's 4.5 update has arrived and with it comes the return of Neuvillette and Kazuha's banners. This can present players who don't have either of these Genshin Impact characters with the problem of not knowing who is more worth pulling.

For those who already have either or both of them, it can be tough to decide if it is worth picking up their constellations, pursuing their signature weapon, or skipping for future characters. In either case, Neuvillette and Kazuha both have pros and cons if players are stumped.

Genshin Impact's Neuvillette Pros and Cons

"The Chief Justice of Fontaine, known as the Iudex, is renowned for his unassailable impartiality."

Neuvillette is a catalyst user who does not need a vision to harness the power of Hydro. He plays a major role in the Fontaine Archon Quests as the Chief Justice of the Fontanian Court, and his true power isn't revealed until the end of the questline. Players looking for a powerful Hydro unit for their account will find that Genshin Impact's Neuvillette can fit their needs, for his powerful attacks and self-sustaining kit make him a perfect addition to any roster lacking a DPS hydro user.

Pros

Cons

Powerful Carry Unit

  • Able to deal with any target, from bosses to multiple enemies

Lone Survival

Free to Play Friendly

  • Prototype Amber, a craftable Four Star weapon, is his best option for those not able to spend for his signature
  • Works just as well with 2 piece ATK% (Gladiator, Shimenwa, Vermillion), 2 piece hydro bonus (Heart of Depth, Nymph's Dream)

Constellations Optional (But fairly Broken at C6)

  • Performs well even at C0
  • Only go for Cons if wanting to boost his power (C2 is a good place to stop if not looking to C6)

Access to Neuvillette's ascension materials isn't restricted

  • Fontaine isn't story-locked, so newer players can make their way to the territory as soon as they acquire Neuvillette

Requires C1 if not run with a Shielder

  • C1 boosts his interruption resistance for his charged attack, so at C0 he will be more prone to being interrupted when using his hydro cannon, meaning he must have a shielder as a teammate if C0

At C0, he works best when paired with other limited Five Stars

On-Field DPS requirement restricts his usage

  • Because he's considered an on-field DPS, he doesn't play well with other units that want on-field time

Makes Combat Trivial

  • Given his powerful attacks, his high damage can defeat enemies quickly, trivializing the combat aspect of the game

Genshin Impact's Kazuha Pros and Cons

"A wandering samurai from Inazuma who is currently with Liyue's Crux Fleet. A gentle and carefree soul whose heart hides a great many burdens from his past."

Kaedehara Kazuha is an Anemo sword user hailing from the islands of Inazuma. He is first introduced to the player when starting Inazuma's Archon Quests, befriending them as they try to gain access to the closed-off territory of the Electro Archon. Players looking for a flexible Anemo unit able to be slotted into all sorts of teams will be satisfied with Genshin Impact's Kazuha because he has a kit that functions as both supportive and damage dealing.

Pros

Cons

Flexible Support

Fits multiple Playstyles

  • Top Tier Support
  • Amazing Hybrid (DPS/Support) for those who want a damage dealer that can also aid/boost allies
  • Cool DPS (For those who favor him and want to use him as a true damage dealer)

Free to Play Friendly

  • For those unable to pursue his signature sword, Freedom Sworn, there are a few other Genshin weapon options depending on playstyle, such as:
    • Iron Sting- a craftable Four Star weapon with an Elemental Mastery main stat (suitable for a Support build)
    • Kagotsurube Isshin- his lore-given sword the player acquires at the end of his story quest (suitable for a Hybrid/DPS build)

Bain of Multiple Enemies

  • His skill is perfect for crowd control, which is handy for timed combat such as Spiral Abyss

Artifacts depend on Playstyle

  • Relies on EM (Elemental Mastery) for high swirl damage
  • Best Artifact Set: 4-piece Viridescent Venerer
  • Functions just as well on 2-piece ATK% (Gladiator, Shimenwa, Vermillion), 2 piece Anemo bonus (Viridescent, Desert Pavilion) if opting for a Hybrid/DPS build

Makes Exploration Easy

  • His skill can be used when jumping off cliffs or in mid-air when gliding, allowing for a height boost

If desired as more than just Support, Cons are required

  • Most players believe he is only viable as a DPS at C6, otherwise it's best to use him as a Support (if opting for a Hybrid build, C2 lets him have a bit more DPS capabilities)

Kazuha's ascension materials are story-locked

  • Because he takes materials (Boss & Local Specialty) from Inazuma, it might be unwise to pull for him if players are currently working on the Mondstadt or Liyue archon quests since Inazuma can only be accessed by unlocking the region through story quest completion, and without access to his materials he'll be stuck at level 40

EM Mainstat for Artifacts can be hard to come by

  • EM has the lowest drop rate of any main stat for artifacts, meaning it could take a while to farm the right pieces for him
