- Genshin Impact Version 5.5 will reportedly introduce a new sub-region called The Great Volcano of Tollan.
- The official lore notes that the volcano used to be the home of ancient dragons, with a palace located beneath the magma.
- The leak also reveals that the update could feature the Collective of Plenty, one of the six Genshin Impact tribes in Natlan.
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed interesting details about a new sub-region that could arrive in the coming months. The arrival of a new region is widely regarded as one of the main annual events in the Genshin Impact community, as it typically introduces tons of new content.
The introduction of new regions tends to also introduce many new characters, one of whom is always an Archon who serves as the area's main protector, with the main storyline revolving around them. As usual, Genshin Impact did not release the complete Natlan region in one update, and players can expect new parts of the Pyro nation to be unlocked approximately every other update.
Genshin Impact Reveals Large Difference Between Mavuika and Citlali Banner Sales
Genshin Impact reveals the revenue difference between the two currently featured five-star characters, the Pyro Archon Mavuika and Citlali.
A credible Genshin Impact leaker named hxg_diluc has revealed that a new sub-region, named The Great Volcano of Tollan, will be added to the game in update 5.5. This does not come as a big surprise, considering that Genshin Impact's Natlan is also known as the Pyro region, and it was only a matter of time before a volcano was introduced. The Great Volcano of Tollan has been mentioned a couple of times in the main storyline, and it's located southwest of Natlan. The official lore revealed that the volcano used to be the home of ancient dragons, with a palace located beneath the magma. After the downfall of the dragon civilization, this palace, along with the whole volcano, was taken over by the Abyss.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals New Volcano Area for Update 5.5
The leaker also revealed that the update could feature the Collective of Plenty, one of the six Genshin Impact tribes in Natlan. So far, players have had the opportunity to meet five tribes and their Saurians, with the Electro tribe being the only one missing. Many fans seem excited to finally be able to explore the volcano, claiming that it's long overdue. Some comments have pointed out that HoYoverse could've added this region in the upcoming Version 5.4.
However, the main reason behind the delay is probably that the main story is likely to return to the Inazuma nation. While HoYoverse has yet to confirm this, it's highly likely that Genshin Impact Version 5.4 will focus on Inazuma, since the newly announced 5-star character Mizuki is confirmed to hail from the Electro nation.
Similarly, the second part of the ongoing Version 5.3 will have players return to Liyue to celebrate Genshin Impact's Lantern Rite Festival. At the moment, there are no credible leaks about new roster additions for update 5.5. However, two characters that have been previously mentioned are Ifa and Iansan. These rumors should still be taken with a grain of salt, considering that Genshin Impact Version 5.5 probably won't arrive before the end of March.
