While collecting Great Songs during the Khvarena of Good and Evil World Quest in Genshin Impact, players might get blocked by a large gate that requires solving a small puzzle. As revealed by Nasejuna, the ruin’s gate solution lies with Rene’s Investigation Notes.
Thanks to Nasejuna’s guidance, players can head out and gather the necessary Great Songs in Genshin Impact. One of them is found deep underground, hidden within a Khaenri’ahn ruin. There will be numerous puzzles inside as well as some tough enemies, so make sure to be prepared before proceeding inside.
How To Open The Ruins' Gate In Genshin Impact
To open the ruin’s gate in Genshin Impact, Travelers must figure out the correct symbols and their orders. Nasejuna reveals that Rene’s Investigation Note says: "Turn the gears such that all three types of runes are displayed. Ensure that the square rune is connected to the triangular rune at the bottom without changing said triangle." To summarize:
- The three runes must be visible (the square, triangle, and W)
- The square and triangle need to be connected
- The triangle rune at the bottom doesn’t need to be changed
The puzzle is pretty simple and if by any chance Travelers forgot the riddle to open the ruins’ gate, then simply speak with Nasejuna again so that he can repeat it. As for players who prefer a straightforward answer:
- The W rune is on top
- The square rune is in the middle
- The triangle rune is at the bottom
Luckily, the runes aren’t connected to each other, so changing one will not interfere with the other symbols.
How To Reach The Underground Khaenri’ahn Ruin
To reach the underground Khaenri’ahn ruin, fast travel to the Teleport Waypoint north of Tunigi Hollow and head east. Descend the mountain to find the entrance covered by tree branches. Luckily, this isn’t a job for Travelers as Sorush will take care of it in a short cutscene.
If players haven’t unlocked the Waypoint above Tunigi Hollow, teleport to the Asipattravana Swamp Waypoint and follow the dirt path west.
After the Pari opens the way, proceed inside past the underground Teleport Waypoint. Keep going in the same direction to finally find the ruin’s gate. Nasejuna is exhilarated that he managed to finally witness a Khaenri’ahn ruin. Paimon, on the other hand, comments Nasejuna must have explored hundreds of these ruins.
The Vijnanapati says he only knew about these types of ruins thanks to an item called Rene’s Investigation Notes. It turns out that an ancient scholar wrote a book recording many mysteries about various ruins. Additionally, Rene said that unimaginable knowledge that surpasses mortals can be found in this particular ruin beyond the gate.
