Summary

  • The upcoming Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will introduce a new permanent game mode called Perilous Conflict.
  • Players will need to spend Resin to claim rewards in this mode, leading to limited attempts to obtain valuable rewards.
  • Perilous Conflict will feature different difficulty levels and Burning States for earning greater rewards.

A Genshin Impact leak has revealed the name of a permanent game mode expected to arrive in the upcoming Version 5.7. Genshin Impact has already confirmed that the next update will feature two new characters: the long-awaited five-star Cryo user Skirk and a new Mondstadt Hydro user named Dahlia.

With each new update, Genshin Impact introduces a number of events; however, most of these are limited to that version of the game and disappear after a couple of weeks. Over the past few years, developer HoYoverse has been adding more permanent game modes, such as Genius Invokation TCG and the Imaginarium Theater.

Genshin Impact Leaks Updated Banner Character List for 5.7

A new Genshin Impact leak reveals an updated list of limited characters that will be featured in the upcoming banners for Version 5.7.

A leak shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed that the name of the new permanent game mode has already been changed. According to the leak, the mode’s name in Version 5.7 has been changed from Tumult Subduer to Perilous Conflict. Overall, fans seem happy with the name change, though many hope HoYoverse will also change the way rewards are collected. Based on the currently available details, players will need to spend Resin to claim rewards from this game mode. This means they will have a limited number of attempts to obtain valuable rewards, a system that has not been well received by the community. The new mode has been compared to Genshin Impact's Spiral Abyss, which does not require Resin to participate or earn valuable rewards, including the game’s most important currency, Primogems.

Genshin Impact: New 5.7 Game Mode Explained

Previous Genshin Impact rumors suggest that at the start of Perilous Conflict, Travelers will choose one of five difficulty levels, ranging from Normal to Mortal. Similar to the Spiral Abyss, completing higher difficulties will grant more rewards, and finishing a higher tier will also grant the rewards from lower tiers. After entering the domain, Travelers must complete up to three consecutive battles; clearing all of them will count as a completed challenge.

Unlike other permanent game modes, Perilous Conflict will reportedly feature enhanced periods known as a “burning state,” during which players can earn greater rewards. To get official information about this game mode, players will have to wait for the next Special Program, which will reveal most of the upcoming content in Genshin Impact Version 5.7.

Even though the last few updates before the release of a new major region are typically considered filler content, it seems HoYoverse is planning to break this pattern by introducing permanent content alongside one of the most anticipated five-star characters in Genshin Impact. Based on HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, players can expect Version 5.7 to arrive around June 18.
