Venturing into the depths of the Extraction Research Center in Genshin Impact, Travelers will encounter a series of formidable foes. The enemies will be guarding three essential Keys With Notches. These keys are the only way to unlock the Saurian Carts and uncover the hidden secrets within this hidden underground cave.
Solving the puzzles in the Fatui Phlogiston Extraction Research Center will lead players into a bigger plot, where the Fatuis are using the poor Natlan animals for their own selfish reasons. Completing this hidden quest will reward Travelers with various precious rewards and the Righteous Resistance Achievement in Genshin Impact.

Find two Key to Somewhere north of Natlan's People of the Springs tribe to find a Local Legend called Balachko in Genshin Impact.
Fatui Phlogiston Extraction Research Center Puzzle In Genshin Impact (Righteous Resistance Achievement)
Fatui Phlogiston Extraction Research Center has three Saurian Carts in the area, each requiring its own key. All three Key With Notches are located in the Extraction Research Center: Experimental Site, a hidden cave located south of the Blazing Ruins Domain. To locate the Phlogiston Extraction Research Center:
- Teleport to the Blazing Ruins Domain in Genshin Impact.
- Head south until you spot a bunch of Fatuis.
- Defeat them.
- Collect a Common chest.
- Follow the road’s path to enter the Extraction Research Center: Passage.
More enemies will try and ambush players inside the cave. Defeat them, then collect an Exquisite chest. Gliding down from the chest location will lead players directly to the Extraction Research Center: Experimental Site.
Key With Frontal Notches Location In Genshin Impact
After gliding down from the previous location in Genshin Impact, players will find two Fatuis guarding a Common chest. Defeat them to open the chest and acquire the first Key With Frontal Notches. Use it to open the Saurian Cart east of it to free the locked-up Yumkasauri.
Key With Centered Notches Location In Genshin Impact
The second Key With Centered Notches and Saurian Cart are located south of the Fatui’s Extraction Machine. To reach it:
- Continue down the cave passage.
- Transform into Yumkasauri.
- Grab the blue ball from the lava.
- Throw it at the door’s mechanism to open it.
- Go toward the Extraction Machine.
- Defeat the Fatuis in front of it.
- Collect the Common chest in Genshin Impact.
- Climb the stairs.
- Defeat the Fatuis guarding the Exquisite chest.
Upon opening the chest, Travelers will find the second Key With Centered Notches. Use it to unlock the Saurian Cart south of its location to obtain a Precious chest.
Key With Rear Notches Location In Genshin Impact
Acquiring the last Key With Rear Notches can be a hindrance since it requires a lot of steps. To acquire the Key With Rear Notches, players need to:
- Go into the space west of the previous chest.
- Defeat the Fatuis inside.
- Collect a Common chest.
- Transform into Yumkasauri in Genshin Impact.
- Jump to the land east of the chest location in Genshin Impact.
- Catch the Tepetlisauri drilling in the ground.
- Grab the Grappling Hook.
- Place it on the box next to the blue ball.
- Use the Yumkasauri’s skill to pull the box toward the room entrance.
- Grab the blue ball.
- Go toward the Extraction Machine.
- Place the ball on one of the mechanism.
Once these steps are completed, a new entrance will open. Defeat the enemies coming out of it and enter the space behind it. Next:
- Go all the way to the Saurian Cart location.
- Climb the stairs next to it.
- Transform into Yumkasauri.
- Use its skill to reach the hanging cage with the blue ball.
- Grab it.
- Go back to the tent location.
- Place the ball on the mechanic next to the closed door.
- Go past the opened door to the other side.
- Grab the ball again (while staying on the other side).
- Place it on the Extraction Machine's second mechanism.
- Turn the machine handle.
- Fend off the attack of the Fatuis for 60 seconds.
- Open the spawned Luxurious chest in Genshin Impact.
The chest will have the Key With Rear Notches alongside a Shattered Night Jade in Genshin Impact. Grab the key and move to the cave’s southwestern room to open the third and final Saurian Cart in the Extraction Research Center: Experimental Site and free the Koholasaur inside.
