The Monumental Study is a quest tasked by Sosi from the Order of Skeptics in Genshin Impact. The quest is about finding the Khvarena Monument Fragments, lost in Gavireh Lajavard and the Realm of Farakhkert. A Khvarena Monument is regarded as a valuable artifact by the Order of Skeptics since it contains the true names of each Pari and their first contact with them.

During the Monumental Study quest, Sosi marks Fatui camp locations and sends travelers to punish them as they strive to gather all four Fragments to establish a contract with the Pari and acquire a power to rival the gods. As soon as players investigate the Fatui camps in Genshin Impact, they can retrieve the lost Fragments with the help of the clue provided by Sosi.

To search for the Lost Monument Fragments in Genshin Impact, players must go to four different locations and use Sorush to collect the Inscriptions.

The Lost Monument Fragment Inscriptions will not be visible without Sorush.

The four locations are:

  1. Vourukasha Oasis
  2. Hills of Barsom
  3. Tunigi Hollow
  4. Asipattravana Swamp

Hills of Barsom

Teleport to the Hills of Barsom and approach the giant tree in Genshin Impact. Fly with Sorush to collect the Khvarena Inscription Fragment inside the tree.

Tunigi Hollow

Fast travel to the waypoint northwest of Tunigi Hollow, and complete the challenge found south. Upon clearing it, a path of Four-Leaf Sigil will be created. Climb to the top using the Four-Leaf Sigil, then switch to Sorush to collect the lost Fragment. It’s impossible to fetch the Lost Monument Inscription without climbing first as the distance between Sorush and the players will be too far. The Khvarena Inscription can be found on the very peak of the Gray Crystal tree.

Asipattravana Swamp

For the final Lost Khvarena Inscription Fragment in Genshin Impact, go west of Asipattravana Swamp and glide east to the underground ruins' entrance. The Fragment is at the top-right of the large passage.

Once all three Lost Monument Fragment Inscriptions are found, teleport to the Gate of Zulqarnain to finish the Monumental Study quest in Genshin Impact. Insert the Khvarena Inscription Fragments to their original position, and soon enough, the Inscriptions will appear on the stone.

Before investigating the Inscriptions, the protagonist will be halted by Markozov alongside fellow Fatui agents. There’ll be one Pyro, Electro, and Cryo Fatui, so it’s not a bad idea to prepare an appropriate Genshin Impact team before returning to Sosi.

After the enemies are defeated, Sosi can finally investigate the text in peace. However, after reading it, she got upset and confused. As the text is not about divine power, but is instead about the history of her people. The thing is, the stone’s story is different from the ones she knows, so she doesn’t know which one to believe in. Sosi thanks the Traveler and players will get their hard-earned reward.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
