According to a recent leak, Genshin Impact may be giving players a free copy of Sethos in Version 5.7, as its Flagship Event will take the Traveler and Paimon back to Sumeru. While Version 5.7 won't come with a map expansion, it seems to feature a Dainsleif quest, a Flagship Event in Sumeru, and a whole new endgame for Genshin Impact players to sink their teeth into. Version 5.7 can definitely be described as a dry patch, with only 57 Intertwined Wishes offered to free-to-play accounts, but hopefully the Events and the Archon Quest will make up for it.
In terms of new characters, Version 5.7 will mark the debut of Dahlia and Skirk in Genshin Impact, with the latter being an especially powerful Cryo hypercarry. Rumors point towards Version 5.7 offering players a glimpse of Nod-Krai characters, not unlike how Charlotte teased Fontaine during the Flagship Event of Version 3.7. However, it remains to be seen which civilization of Teyvat these new NPCs belong to. Given that Sumeru potentially borders Nod-Krai to the north, there is a chance that one of them will appear during the Flagship Event.
Genshin Impact Could Feature a First Look at Nod-Krai in Version 5.7
Recent datamining in Genshin Impact has unearthed some unfamiliar resources, as leakers speculate that it could be related to Nod-Krai.
As for the Flagship Event itself, KazusaLeaks claims that Sethos will be the free 4-Star of Version 5.7, allowing Genshin Impact players to grab a copy of the Electro Bow character during the first half of the update. It remains to be seen if Sethos will appear on the Event Banners in Version 5.7, but the Spiral Abyss buffs do point towards a rerun for Mavuika at the very least. Despite being a 4-Star character in Genshin Impact, Sethos boasts one of the stronger designs of the past few years – both in a visual and gameplay sense.
Genshin Impact Players May Obtain Sethos in Version 5.7 for Free
Sethos is pretty versatile, but his main purpose is to dish out respectable numbers in Aggravate teams. In that sense, many players have come to view him as a budget version of Clorinde in Genshin Impact. What makes it easy to invest in Sethos is that Slingshot, a 3-Star Bow, is easily his best or second-best weapon. While he can demand a lot of Elemental Energy to maintain his rotation, this can be solved by running him with Raiden. Otherwise, his best team tends to use Fischl as a battery.
Unfortunately, Sethos doesn't have any synergy with Skirk or Dahlia, who are both locked into Freeze teams almost exclusively. That being said, Aggravate teams should do well against the modified Hydro Tulpa boss in the new endgame mode in Genshin Impact. Overall, its first phase seems to advertise four things: Aggravate, Overload, Burning, and Freeze characters. Luckily, the first few chambers will allow players to team up with their friends. Version 5.7 is set to launch on June 18, 2025.
