A Genshin Impact fan has shared an interesting cheat sheet that can help players in a fight against some of Teyvat's strongest monsters. The game keeps adding new enemies with every new region that becomes playable. The recently introduced Sumeru region added tons of new enemies including the fearless desert mercenaries known as Eremites.
Some Genshin Impact enemies have an elemental shield that needs to be broken before they start losing HP which can make a fight frustrating if players don't have the right elements in their team comp. These enemies can recharge their shield if they are not defeated within a certain period.
Reddit user krnshadow65 has shared two very helpful charts that show how the game's elemental damage impacts different kinds of shields. The two charts represent the two main enemy factions in Genshin Impact, the Fatui organization and the Abyss monsters, both of which can be equipped with elemental shields. The chart proves that players who explore Teyvat should always have a Pyro character in their team since it seems like the most effective type of elemental damage that counters three types of shields: Cryo, Electro, and Dendro. According to the chart, Electro-infused shields are the weakest since they can be broken by three different elements.
While the Electro element is not perfect for breaking any type of shield, it's considered a soft counter against Cryo, Pyro, and Hydro enemies. Geo is a unique Genshin Impact element that usually works independently of any other element in the game as it can only trigger one reaction named Crystalize. The only effective way to break Geo shields is by using Genshin Impact's claymore characters like Eula, Diluc, Beidou, and many others.
The Hydro elemental shield was widely considered the most annoying one in the game until developer HoYoverse introduced the long-awaited Dendro element in update 3.0. Apart from becoming the only element that can effectively take down Hydro Abyss Mages, Dendro also introduced tons of new elemental reactions, adding much-needed combat diversity to the game.
Out of the seven Genshin Impact elements, Anemo is the only one missing from the chart. This is because there are no enemies in the game that have this kind of shield. According to the chart, having a team comp that has Pyro, Hydro, and Dendro damage, as well as a claymore user, will allow players to take down any elemental shield in they encounter.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
