A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed important details about the mysterious Skirk, who is confirmed to be the next character to join the game's playable roster. Even though many players expected the last two updates before the arrival of the next major region to feature more filler content, such as summer events, it seems Genshin Impact has other plans, as it is introducing one of the most highly anticipated characters.
Skirk was first mentioned by her student, Tartaglia, back in Update 1.1, and she made her first appearance in Version 4.2, where she was portrayed as an extremely powerful character. However, since then, not much has been revealed about Skirk, other than the fact that she has ties to the Abyss.

An interesting Genshin Impact chart ranks the playable characters by their usage rate in the current Spiral Abyss for update 5.6.
When Childe fell into the Abyss, Skirk took him in and taught him all of his combat abilities, which helped him rise to the rank of Fatui Harbinger. She has also shown disdain for Genshin Impact's Heavenly Principles and wanted Fontaine’s Neuvillette to give up the Hydro Gnosis. After months of speculation about where Skirk belongs in the world of Teyvat, a new post on Genshin Impact Leaks describes her origins as the “Cosmic Abyss,” which has sparked a lot of discussion in the community. This description strongly suggests that Skirk comes from outside Teyvat, which would not be a huge surprise considering that her design and overall demeanor differ from most characters in the playable roster. It should also be noted that Aether and Lumine, the main characters, are said to come from a different planet that they had to flee, as it experienced events similar to Teyvat’s cataclysm.
