Summary
- Genshin Impact's beta build reveals new details about the Winter Tsar and Snezhnaya.
- Version 5.5 is expected to introduce a Natlan map expansion and new Artifact Domain in Genshin Impact.
The latest beta build of Genshin Impact has revealed some new details about Snezhnaya, including its former ruler – the Winter Tzar. Genshin Impact launched in September 2020 and has since taken the Traveler and Paimon on a long journey across Teyvat. From their humble beginnings in Mondstadt and Liyue, to pushing the Abyss back in Natlan, their adventures have steadily moved the pair closer to a confrontation with the Tsaritsa and her Fatui.
This confrontation will take the Traveler to Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact, the last of the Seven Nations of modern Teyvat. While leaks strongly imply that Snezhnaya will be split into two parts, it's clear that the overarching storyline is entering its final chapters. The first half of this journey is expected to feature Nod-Krai, an autonomous province located on the southern borders of Snezhnaya. Dottore is expected to play a major role once more, but Genshin Impact players are hopeful that Columbina, Tartaglia, and Arlecchino will show up as well.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5: Predicting Varesa's Place in the Meta
Predicting how Varesa will compare to Genshin Impact’s meta team compositions based on the latest leaks for this upcoming five-star character.
Version 5.5 is set to introduce the penultimate Natlan map expansion to Genshin Impact, and within this territory, players will be able to challenge a new Artifact Domain. According to HomDGCat, the recent beta build finally added descriptions for the two upcoming Artifact Sets, unexpectedly revealing quite a bit of lore that concerns Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya as a whole.
Genshin Impact: What the New Artifacts Reveal About Snezhnaya
Before the time of the Tsaritsa, the lands of Cryo were led by the Winter Tsar – ruler of all Fae and head of the Fae Court. He uplifted a man from the northern part of Snezhnaya, bringing him to the ranks of the nobility, and granting him an emblem of the Nightingale. This noble became known as the first Torchbearer and was instrumental in rallying the people of Nod-Krai against the Abyss. To honor their sacrifice, the Winter Tsar pledged a vow of loyalty to the lands of Nod-Krai, promising them eternal protection. However, the new Artifact Set in Genshin Impact implies that the Tsaritsa broke this vow during the aftermath of Khaenri'ah's fall – known as the Wild Hunt in Snezhnaya.
Her Warriors of the Pale Star were ordered to abandon the people of Nod-Krai during the calamity, with the ulterior motive of conquering the weakened province in the aftermath. While a Warrant Officer defied the orders of the Tsaritsa, saving the children of Nod-Krai, he was branded a traitor and made to pledge an oath. The Snezhnayan warriors who fought against the Abyss in Genshin Impact roam the lands of Nod-Krai to this day, still in pursuit of the Wild Hunt.
