A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community has revealed that Version 6.0 will feature a Chronicled Banner for Sumeru characters, giving six 5-Stars their long-overdue reruns. With over a hundred characters in Genshin Impact, it has become nearly impossible for the developers to maintain a fair banner schedule. Many 5-Stars get left behind, such as Eula, Shenhe, or Cyno, and the wait between reruns can easily reach up to 600 days. One of the ways that HoYoverse has chosen to address this problem is via the Chronicled Banner.
The Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact largely focuses on older regions, such as Inazuma and Liyue, allowing players to pull for any 5-Star from the region as long as they meet the following criteria: they are not an Archon, and they haven't recently featured on the Event Banners. Genshin Impact players can also choose any Signature Weapon that belongs to the region of a Chronicled Banner, albeit the pity system remains the same for characters and weapons alike.

According to Firefly Leaks, Version 6.0 will introduce a Chronicled Banner for Sumeru, effectively giving a rerun for the following Genshin Impact characters: Alhaitham, Cyno, Nilou, Wanderer, Tighnari, and Dehya. While they haven't been confirmed by HoYoverse just yet, there are a few factors to consider. Nahida, the Dendro Archon of Sumeru, was datamined to feature on the Event Banners in Version 6.0. Moreover, all limited 5-Star characters from Sumeru have gone at least a year without a rerun.
Perhaps the biggest value of a Sumeru Chronicled Banner lies in its pool of Signature Weapons. Beacon of the Reed Sea, Hunter's Path, and Light of Foliar Incision are all powerful weapons in Genshin Impact for a plethora of characters. A notable quirk of the Chronicled Banner is that players who lose their 50:50 can obtain limited 5-Star weapons or characters from its regional pool. By that same virtue, they can only obtain 4-Star characters from that region.
Given that Lauma in Genshin Impact is being touted as a Bloom Support, and Ineffa has introduced Lunar-Charged in Version 5.8, there is hope that Sumeru characters like Cyno or Nilou will greatly benefit in Nod-Krai. Fans who enjoy the playstyle of these characters should prepare their Primogems for Version 6.0, as it may be a while until HoYoverse considers another Sumeru Chronicled Banner. As for official confirmation, players can expect to hear more either during Gamescom or the next Special Program Announcement. Version 6.0 is set to launch on September 10, 2025.
